"I really must insist on you not going out right away!" Healer Ellie insisted once more. "You have only been awake for a week and going out like this may cause more damage to your weak body!" I sighed in annoyance before turning to Healer Ellie.
"Look, I know I am still healing, but I need to do this. No one wants to go with me because they are afraid of what is out there. I need to get the second stone and I know exactly where it is. I'm not worried about my life, I'm worried about others lives. I have spent the last four years, not knowing who I am, imprisoned for something stupid, and coma to heal myself. I'll be gone for only a few hours." I informed her. Healer Ellie put her hands on her waist and glared at me like a mother would her child.
"If you come back injured, I will have you on a tight rope. Do I make myself clear?" She made no room for arguing.
"Healer Ellie, I have many decisions to make. One of those are staying here or not. If I stay, I have to marry and I'm just not ready for that. I have to lead a war, but I need to get back to the rest of my fa-friends. The people I am going to fight. I am scarred more than anything and they aren't going to go away. I am a walking story. You have done so much for me already, for that I thank you, but I can take care of myself." I sighed as her eyes softened. I looked to the sky and saw that it was almost sunset.
"Good luck, my dear. Do return for more healing." She gently said.
"I can't make any promises." I said. She only frowned. "I have to go before I miss my chance." I jogged towards the water as the sun met it. In a flash of orange and yellow light, I was in a completely different setting of land. The grass reached my knees but cut off into a clearing that made a perfect circle.
"Welcome child. Please step forward so we may see you better." A woman's voice filled the air, giving off a peaceful and welcoming vibe. "I have been waiting for you for a while now. Your daughter speaks often of you."
"She is an interesting character." I replied. "I only wish I knew it was her I was talking to at the time. I didn't know she would after in the after life."
"Lady Death is rather fond of her." A woman stepped out. She has dark skin and black hair. Her eyes are a shimmering pink. It is a little odd. "Come. Come and join me for a while. You may call me Joria. I will also inform you that this will be the easiest stone for you to get."
"Kind of figured that one out." I said. She chuckled and motioned to a small area where drinks and food awaited us. "I am taking that there is something you wish to tell me also?"
"You are wise girl." She sat down and I followed suit. "The future will be full of dangers and trials. Before you fight, you must learn to control your magic. Your fire will react to your anger. You do not get angry easily, but when you do, it will not be the best. You control your fire by instinct but it will take great practice."
"Good thing I have alot of patience these days." I muttered.
"That is a good thing. Patience will be required alot in your future. Now, tell me about the boy you will be marrying and don't say you aren't, you know you will need him and his peoples alliance in the future. You will come to love him, not right now, but you will. You are the one that will be choosing when the wedding is, remember that one." She handed me a cup of grey tea.
"So, I have no choice in my future?" I questioned annoyed. "I just don't understand why it has to be him! He is so talkative and annoying. He's overbearing and a whimp. I can't deal with that."
"He is afraid, like a normal person. Only he is a werewolf. Do you not like him because he isn't a true human?" She inquired. I rubbed my temple in annoyance. "Ah, you forgot he was a werewolf. You do not wish to court a man that is childish or perhaps you are afriad to let your heart open once more."
"Why must you people do that?" I snapped. "Yes, I'm afraid and I have every right to be! I was forced into something that I was too young for. I was going to be a mother but I lost the child. I lost my gem and prize. She made me want to be a better person but I lost everything when I lost her. I was barely hanging on by a thread but the few family and friends I have saved me. I still struggle with it every day. Everyone thinks I am this person that never fears, but the one thing everyone holds onto is the one thing I am afriad of."
"It's good to know your fears, Evie. Not many want to admit what they are?" She said. I sighed. "I believe that you have been waiting for this." Joria handed me a stone. I stared at it for a while before laughing.
"A sapphire? Of course the second stone is a sapphire." I laughed. "Is it time for me to go. I know time works differently here."
"Yes. I hope everything goes the way you want my child. May you be blessed." Joria waved her hand and in a flash of light, I was standing in front of the lake.
"Well...that may be the easiest thing I've done since coming to this world." I muttered.
