"Be safe. It's very far from here. Madam Villy'anna will be expecting you before sunset." Blaze said. Alexis, David, and Cooper are already on Elderling, ready to leave. "Contact me if you need anything." She said firmly. I took a ring I had been working on out of my pocket.
"This ring is for you. When I need you. When it is time for the final shown down, it will flow red and become a portal. Your library had several books on it. Took me several tries to get it right, but it worked wonders." I told her. She nodded. "I will keep contact with you on the outside world. When I hear from my generals, I will inform you of the information that they have collected."
"That's all I ask. We will stand by your side when the time comes. Now go, you must not wait any more time." Blaze urged. I nodded and joined the others on Elderling. With one last farewell, Elderling took flight into the crystal blue sky.
"So...any one else wonder what it would be like to fly in animal form?" David asked.
"I'm sure everyone thinks about that." I replied as I turned around to face everyone. Cooper took hold of my legs, probably of fear of me falling off. "You can probably try to master magic that gets you an animal form. have you ever thought about that?" I asked him.
"No. I never considered that one. That is almost impossible magic. We never thought about trying it because we aren't up at that level yet. At least, we never thought so." David answered.
"Then there lies your problem. You never have given it a try. You have limitless possibilities to learn things that not many get the chance to know. You need to take risk. If you don't get it the first time, then try again. Nothing is meant to be easy. The only thing that stops you from going beyond the limits is you. Don't hold yourself back. I have always held myself back and missed opportunities. That's why I am doing all that I can now to grab thoughs. Don't do what I have done." I said firmly.
"Those are wise words. Not many people your age would say that. You must have faced alot of trials in your life. How did you get this way?" Alexis asked.
"Like you said, I have faced a lot of trials. My family never really was a family. The only people I had for a while was my grandparents before I met my firends in middle school. I was mostly neglected. One day I made a deal with my parents while I was in high school. I'll go live with my grandparents for a year and we go from there. They just wanted me temporarily out of their lives, not like I minded it. Everything that happened to me up until then was really nothing. A couple weeks after I got to my grandparents home, I met a man. The relationship only lasted a few months. He physically, emotionally, mentally, and sexually abused me. I conceived a little girl, but she was born premature. I was able to name her long enough before she died in my arms."
"What did your friends think of that?" Cooper asked. He looked more concerned than disgusted by what he is learning.
"I never told them. I was ashamed by what happened to me. It's taken me a while to get over the death of my little girl, but it's not as hard as it once was. My parents disowned me during my last year of schooling because I wasn't doing what they wanted. I create my own destiny, and I'll die before I let someone tell me what and who I can be." I declared firmly.
"You are very brave Evie. Thank you for telling this to us. Do you think you might go to your parents one day and talk to them. Forgive them for everything they have done?" Cooper asked.
"One day, I don't know when, but one day." I answered after thinking for a moment.
"We are arriving at our destination." Elderling said as he landed. We jumped off as an old woman, who I assume is Madam Villy'anna, approached us. "I leave you here, Evie. I await for you to come back. Good luck, my lady." Elderling bowed his head and then flew off.
"Welcome new and old students. Alexis, David, it is good to see you two once more. All of you just call me Villy. It's easier than saying my mouthful of a name." Villy said. She then turned to me. "Evie, leader of the Phoenix Soldiers. Lady of the Dragons and more titles to come. I have been waiting for you for many years. It is wonderful to finally meet you. All of you, follow me. You young man, I can sense you will be a great leader. A werewolf. Tell me your name."
"My name is Cooper. Evie's husband, madam."Cooper answered with a confused expression.
"Wonderful." She said. We entered the small cabin, but on the inside, it was big. Apparently the looks can be decieving should go for buildings too at all times. "Sit, sit." She ordered.
"Oh, I've missed it here. It's wonderful to be back." Alexis sighed out happily. David nodded in agreement.
"Let's get down to business, shall we?" Villy asked as she set drinks and food on the table. "Evie, you have many powers that you need to control within this coming year. Yes, it will take a year to train you. It will be two years on the island but out there, only year. Basically two years, yet it is one. I never understood the difference in time on the island. I sort of just went with it when I was being trained for this position. I haven't left this island since I was thirty years old, and I never plan to either."
"What is the training going to look like?" I asked.
"You are going to start with the simple magic that runs through your veins. We will work our way up to the stones. Each stone has it's own magic. The moment you are able to use the first stone, you will know how to use the others. When you reunite with your fellow soldiers, you will teach them how to use the stone that they connect with. You are the leader, therfore you must know everything. A burden, but one every leader holds proudly." Oh my God, I'm going to die! I screamed in my head, making Cooper flinch and then laugh at. The laughing earned him a smack.
"Brat." I growled.
"Always." Was his reply.
