Mated.
Lucia Gilbert had been mated to Brian Philips for the greater part of one year now. She had spent a considerable part of this time learning the duties and responsibilities of the Luna of a pack. She was actually being schooled on this by the wife of a neighboring friendly Alpha who had volunteered to put her through. It was essential she becomes well versed in this because she would one day become the Luna of the pack. In fact, she will soon celebrate her 19th birthday and would be announced the future Luna of the pack.
How Lucia became future Luna of the Silver Creek Pack is at best a tale of the absurd. It was a process which neither she herself or any other wolf for that matter could not explain even up till now. Even the present Alpha with all his years of living as a Wolf couldn't properly explain it.
She had suddenly
woken up and found herself lying on bed next to Brian totally nude.
She touched her neck and felt some small blood stains indicating where she had been marked as a mate.
In addition, there were semen stains on her private area to indicate that s*x had actually taken place between both of them.
She stood up from the bed, very curious at what she was seeing and immediately demanded an explanation. It wasn't as though she hated Brian whom everyone in the pack knew would soon become the new Alpha of the pack. Of course she did not. And like many other she wolves in the Silver Creek Pack, she had dreamed from childhood of the day when she would also be addressed as the Luna of the pack and also have her own picture adorned on the walls of the pack house alongside those of the previous Luna who had held sway in the pack. She looked back at those years with feelings of nostalgia.
But even if she were to be really mated to Brian, this was not the usual way to go about it. I mean, there was a usual manner mates meet each other. The sweet smelling scent, meeting at a party or at any other function and all of that. But for Brian to lure her into his room, put a sleeping pill in her drink and defiling her all in the name of marking her as his mate was totally unacceptable. That was what she thought he did. She could be wrong anyway, because no one could explain exactly what happened.
Who told him that she's his mate? Why would he go all this length, for moon goddess sake?
"Why did you have to do this?" she asked, visibly angry.
A confused and totally disoriented Brian could only manage to mutter a few words.
"I don't know what you're talking about," he said, visibly pained.
"What do you mean you don't know what I'm talking about?" she asked, barely managing to keep her emotions under check.
Brian knew she needed to be assuaged. For one, they were in his room and it would be hard for him to deny responsibility for what had happened. Only a very few would believe he didn't lure her into his room. Also, he had to take things easy with her to make her see reason not to report the matter to the Alpha council because it might attract serious punishment. If found guilty at the Alpha council level, hệ might be executed. On a milder level, hệ could be stopped from becoming the Alpha in the future. That is how serious it could be. Though her parents were easy going members of the pack, they would feel upset if they got to know what happened.
The best bet would be for him to plead with her to keep it a secret.
"I can swear that I don't know what has happened. I can't really explain things. I'm just as confused as you are."
"Alright, since you are not willing to tell me the truth, then I will spill the beans. I will tell whoever should know about what you have done until every wolf in the pack gets to know about it," she said with bitterness in her voice.
She then put on her clothes and stormed out of his apartment.
Even before Lucia reported the matter to her family, Brian had already told his own father, Alpha Norman Philips everything that happened and swore to him that he's innocent of whatever charges that could be brought against him. The Alpha had promised to wade into the matter and settle it amicably.
Subsequently, a meeting was convened by Alpha Norman to iron out issues and arrive at a decision that would be acceptable to both sides. Present at the meeting were the Alpha himself, Lucia, her father, the Beta and Brian.
There were a lot of deliberations back and forth. At the end of the meeting, Alpha Norman announced his decision:
"I have carefully considered all what we have talked about in the last two hours or so. One thing we have all agreed about is that none of us has heard of this type of mate bond anywhere in the Werewolf world in recent times. It is quite a mystery. And when we try too hard to resolve this mystery, we could find ourselves directly challenging the moon goddess who might have chosen this unusual way for them to become mates. Who knows? The moon goddess does things exactly the way she feels like, and none of us can question her.Therefore, in the light of everything that has transpired, I hereby order that my son, Brian Philips, the future Alpha of the Silver Creek Pack and Lucia Gilbert have become mates and they are to start living together henceforth. By this pronouncement, she has also become the future Luna of the Pack."
That was it! It had become an order, sealed and signed by the Alpha himself.
So, within a few days, arrangements were made and Lucia moved into Brian's apartment.
