The light of the sunrise lights the room and the sound of the birds waking up in the forest breaks him from his sleep. Although he didn't sleep through the night, he feels more rested knowing he got a lot more sleep than normal. This change of scenery is looking good. He rises to look out over the ocean from the bedroom, admiring the sky changing over the water. Making his way to the kitchen for a cup of coffee he sends off a message to Shirley to check real-estate options in the area.
Once he has a freshly brewed coffee in hand he walks out to sit on the porch. Scrolling through his emails and messages, and responding to a few urgent queries from Shirley and Brighton, there is nothing they couldn't handle on their own. Once caught up, switching to his browser he enters his location information looking for vacant land. Scrolling through the listing his excitement doubles to see that there are quite a few options. Probably nothing like this piece of heaven he has here, but something similar would do. Completely lost in thought he hears the sound of someone clearing their throat and looks up into the most beautiful blue eyes he had ever seen. His mind stands still for a moment and only starts working again when he realizes that the person those eyes belong to is talking to him. He shakes his head and smiles shyly as he stands up to greet her. "Hi, sorry, I was lost in thought" he chuckles to himself and then he looks at her. A bright smile forms on her lips and lights up her face, she is cute in that girl-next-door kinda way, it's a natural beauty that makes your insides go soft. She blushes at his blatant perusal of her features and greets him in a breathy voice. " Good morning Mr. Warldon, it's a pleasure to finally meet you," she says extending her hand to shake his. He takes her delicate hand in his and she squeezes it ever so slightly " Sorry I couldn't make it last night, The clinic was busy with emergencies, a small boy fell out of a tree" she continues, her blush spreading over her high cheekbones and delicate features. He finds himself staring at her blue eyes and those lushes lips, barely hearing a word, when she tries to pull her hand back he realizes that she has stopped talking so he smiles" Oh, it's not a problem, I had a wonderful evening watching the sunset and enjoying the quiet, Thank you, Jessica is it?" he lets her hand go, and she answers " Yes, but you can call me Jess, everyone around here does" "Well nice to meet you, Jess, Please come in, can I get you a coffee?" he asks and she gives him her order for no milk and no sugar, he looks at her in shock, "a woman that enjoys her coffee the way I do, coming right up, make yourself comfortable " ...
This could get interesting, she seems a bit skittish, looking around constantly, and not wanting to be in the same room... She walks back out to the porch and stands by the railing watching the waves break on the shore. Her back to him, leaning against the pillar and staring across the water such a handsome man, this James is, and such an interesting character, and an exciting one at it, now don't go getting any ideas...we are still hiding, and who says this guy is not like Andrew, he seems self-assured and controlling, don't go getting into that again.. she thinks watching the waves. James stares at her standing there on the porch. He sets the cups down for coffee and steels a glance or two in her direction. While he waits for the coffee to brew he finds himself scanning over her body. Long shapely legs in a tight pair of jeans that hug her lean thighs and perfect peach-shaped bum making his mouth water. Her shapely calfs stretching the jeans and her pretty feet in a pair of tan sandals makes my body react out of nowhere. No woman had ever captured his outright attention quite like this. His eyes wander up her curvy body as she turns to watch him and they caress every inch of her chest, beautiful perfect breasts, in a tight white shirt showing off just the right amount of cleavage. I bet they fit perfectly in my palms, ...what the hell, I'm rock hard and all I did was shake her hand, I must be going through withdrawal or something, last night was the first time in months that I had slept alone..., but boy...she looks good in those jeans and that shirt...I could just pull it down and free those ..." So how do you like the place so far? " she breaks him from his lust-filled thoughts, and he needs to swallow his arousal down before he manages to answer. " oh, I love it, I can't believe how quiet it is here. Definitely what I needed." he says as he steps out with their coffees in hand. Trying to act normal sporting a hardon that would rival all others, he quickly hands her the cup and sits down. She smiles and starts talking about the history of the location, the heritage her father left when he passed and a sad look crosses over her face when she mentions struggling to maintain the cabin and work the hours she does at the clinic. Very few tourists make their way here, so she lacks the additional income to take care of it. He asks how she settled here and she frowns and tells him she left the city and made a home here. Seeming to avoid the question he shrugs it off and continues to make small talk sipping the coffee and at some stage, they finally agree that James should get dressed so she can show him around town, then they could have lunch and see how the day goes. He gets dressed with a smile on his face, a woman planning my day for me, I wonder what she's hiding. well maybe she also just escaped the city for whatever reason, not wanting to dwell on it he..., that's a first, he chuckles to himself, thinking back to her sexy body and her shy blush, I wouldn't mind her planning mine every day as long as there is some reward in the form of her bent over a chair or coach somewhere...oh boy I need to reign those thoughts in she doesn't seem interested in that way...
Dressed similarly in dark jeans, sneakers and a tight white tee he helps her into his SUV and jumps in. "Well, lead the way," he tells her smiling. They drive back into the village, park in the square, and then wander around town on foot. She shares historical interests and local secrets, as well as a healthy amount of local gossip that has them both laughing heartily by the time they walk into the coffee shop for lunch.
"Welcome back Mr. James and Jess my dear," a friendly greeting from the elderly lady, she takes our orders for the daily special and sets off to prepare our plates. They continue talking and sharing and James is amazed at how interesting he finds her. Jess is not the normal vain creature he is used to dealing with. She is naturally beautiful and draws you in without even realizing her allure. She is blissfully unaware of the lust she awakes in him. And by the way, she interacts with others when they pass them in the street or shouts a greeting, this is no show, this is the real Jess, a down-to-earth girl, as petty as the sunset over the water, and she doesn't even know it.
After Lunch they head to the grocery store, he grabs a few things, including some quality local wines, two of the ones Jess recommended, and some salad, snacks, and chocolate,...well Jess wanted some, but it's not his thing.. so he adds it to the shopping cart for her.
"Let's go put this in the house and we can go for a walk on the beach?" Jess suggests. "Sounds great, do you hike?" he enquires
"oh yes, my favorite pastime, I try to do it as often as possible, but with the schedule of sick people, you can imagine..." she laughs. We share a chuckle, "yeah well, mine doesn't allow for much hiking either"
Is it just me? can't be just me... Jess thinks as they drive towards the cabin. He is so hot...and rich...and staying in my dad's old rundown cabin....ughhhhh. He was definitely checking me out in the morning...and he asks a lot of questions....probably just making Smalltalk. Besides, why would a guy like that be interested in a girl like me... a small-town doctor, hiding away from the world, too scared to get close to anyone else. Better stop these silly thoughts, better to stay away and stay safe he is just being friendly, no need to get into anything, then there is no way to get hurt again.
We talk about hiking and books and music, we have quite a few things in common. James shares his insomnia problem, and how he hopes the fresh air would help, and Jess finds herself wishing it does,....maybe he will stay longer...or move here....ha ha Jess you are being ridiculous...you are trying to get away from Andrew not invite new trouble in
We park in front of the cabin and carry the shopping inside. She helps pack everything away and places the wine in the freezer. The sun is setting. "Let's go for a walk, the sunset is magnificent on the beach" Jess suggests, and smiles at James. " Shall we pack a basket and some wine maybe? " James enquires. "Is that a date Mr. James?" Jess teases to gauge his interest. To her surprise, James answers " Oh absolutely, you can't expect me to drink all this wine by myself" and winks, while a wide smile plays on his kissable lips. be still my romantic heart, Jess thinks.
