Mythicals

I jump when I hear the door slam open. I get up looking around. Fae walks in with a friend with pink hair. She then looks at me and then quickly looks away in fear.

"Its ok." Fae says. "She is very harmless."

The pink haired girl, wears cloth all around her upper body in a lose way. Still making her look cute.

"How did you sleep?" Fae asks me.

"I slept ok. Thank you." I say as i get up.

"This is Solice." Fae points at Solice, whome looks at me shyly.

"Hi, i am Athena, its very nice to meet you." I say to her as sweet as i can. Solice smiles at me but looks down at the floor.

"Old Mother wants to speak with you." Fae says.

"Now?" I ask.

"Yes now." Fae says.

I use my fingers to brush down my hair a little. Theres no mirror so i cant really see how i look. I wipe down my eyes to make sure theres no eye buggers. Fixing my shirt and leggings which i been wearing for who knows how long i have been here, i get up and put on my sneakers.

I look up and Solice seems intriged by what i am wearing. I guess they have never been outside of the cave. They would have never seen what things look like now. All of the modern things. Yet they have magical potions that can cure anything and even make you speak and understand a language in seconds.

Once i am finished i follow the both of them back to Old Mothers home. Theres a crowd once again. Once they see me they are look at me in curiosity but mostly disgust. Othniel, Odette and Kire are there already, i see more other creatures. Some of them are a lot smaller. Wyvern then appears from behind the crowd and smiles at me. At least theres some one here that seems to be happy to see me.

Old Mother then steps out. Everyone greets her with praise and respect.

Old Mother looks at me and extends her hand towards me signaling me to take it. I walk slowly towards her. Once i reach her, Old Mother takes my hand in hers. She smiles at me. She then looks around her.

"I would like to start, no one here is to kill this young girl um." Old Mother looks at me. "Whats your name my dear?"

"Athena."

"Ah ok." Old Mother pats my hand. "No one is to harm Athena, although i feel she is harmless, there is just no way too fully know." Old mother looks me in the eye. "I must say, you must stay here, for the protection of our people. We dont know if you'll go out there and tell your world about us."

"Old Mother please, I promise I would never!"

"I am sorry child. I cannot let you leave this place." Old Mother says. She begins to let go of my hand, but i hold on, falling to my knees.

"Please just let me go! I promise you! You will never have to see or hear from me again." I beg her. Someone grabs my arm and begins to pull me away. "No please Old Mother!" I feel tears falling down my cheeks. "Let me prove myself please!"

Old Mother looks at me with sadden eyes. "I am sorry my child.'

"Please i am begin you! I have to go back! Ill do anything." I cry out. "I have plans with my parents! My mom and dad! My friend! And poor Mrs. Granger who must be worried sick!"

Old Mother walks closer to me.

"She is probably lying!" Othniel yells. "Trying to go back so she'll bring her friends here to kill us! Lets kill her instead!"

"Kill the human!" Odette says.

"Stop it!" Wyvern says.

"No Old Mother! I swear, i fell down here by accident!" I cry out.

"There are no accidents!" Othniel yells.

"Stop!" Old Mother says.

"Old Mother you cant let her run free around here! Or set her back above ground. You cant trust a human!" Othniel says.

"Othniel, if you please." Old Mother says.

"Ill kill her myself!" Othniel says as he takes a step closer to me. I back up my heart jumping scared.

"Othniel stop it!" Kire yells. Othniel looks back at Kire and then at me, he looks at me in disgust.

"Athena shall be under my and Kire's protection! Anyone hurts her, hurts me!" Old Mother says.

"Why are you protecting her?" Odette yells.

"Odette." Kire says in a serious tone.

"No! You should not be protecting this human!" Odette points at me. "She is nothing but a worthless human who deserves to die!"

"Odette stop!" Old Mother raises her voice. She then doubles over and begins to cough. Everyone stops talking and watches her with concern.

"Old Mother are you ok?" Kire asks, he puts his arms around her body and holds her still. He then looks around. He begins to say something but Old Mother stops him.

"Athena come inside with me." Old Mother says. I look at Old mother and then back at the crowd which seems to be dispersing and discussing among themselves. Some look at me with curiosity, as in what is going to happen now that she is here?

I hear Old Mother clear her throat and i follow her into her tiny home. Upon entering this home seems a lot different then the one i was staying in. Not everything is made of wood. And her cups and plates are actually made of ceramic. Not wood. Huh i wonder whats up with that?

Her little kitchen reminds me of a little home in the woods, in some fairy tale story. Its small yet cozy, her is her tiny livinroom, theres a fire place but its more open into the room. Strange. The colors are what makes it more homier. There is no couches but clots on the groud for makeshift couches, and then in the conor of the room where the window is, there is a small rocking chair. Next to the chair a small wooden side table, a small mug sits there, and a book as well. Where the fire place is on top of the ledge there are a lot of small viles. Some filled with liquids. Theres a small room in the back. Maybe her room. But this little shack is really adorable.

"Sit anywhere you would like." Old Mother says.

I look at her as Kire helps her sit at her rocking chair. I then lower myself to my knees and then sit down with my legs folded to my side.

"I am sorry for keeping you here, its something i must do to protect Underlnad." Old Mother says.

"But why cant you let me prove myself?" I ask. "I can prove to you that you can trust me. Please i have a family."

"I am sorry child, but i cant." Old Mother says as she takes the small mug and sips from it.

"Old Mother please." I bed, Old Mother raises her hand.

"Since you will be staying here, we will let you stay with the fairies. They wont try to harm you, and i hear Fae has been good to you and is no longer afraid, so you can stay with her and she can show you around and you can help around here." Old Mother says.

I feel tears falling down my cheeks as i hear her speak. I dont want to be here. I want to go home. I dont want to be here. "I cant stay here!" I cry out, I cover my face with my hands as i cry my shoulders shaking.

"Athean, i am sorry you are feeling this way, but its too much of a risk to let you go." Old Mother says.

"I understand humans hurt you in the past! But that is it! Its in the past! I am no one but a regular person trying to make a living!" I cry.

"Yet we arent going to risk it!" Kire says in a serious tone.

"Just let me prove myself and then let me go!" I say as i wipe my nose.

"I am sorry child, we cant." Old Mother says.

I stand up and look at the both of them. "Then why not just kill me? Huh." I ask them.

"Child." Old Mother shakes her head.

"Why keep me here? In a place where everyone hates me?" I ask her.

Old Mother stares at me with sadden eyes. "Because killing you, a human will be a repeated cycle we have longed to end." Old Mother says. "We will be just like the humans, killing with no mercy."

"Old Mother i dont want to be here." I say.

"Its the end of it. You are staying here." Old Mother says. "Kire please take her to Fae's."

"Old Mother no please!" I cry out as Kire grabs my arm and drags me away. "Old Mother please! Let me go!" I try to get rid of Kire but he holds on tight. "Let me go!" I scream, tears streaming down my face. "Please!"

Kire picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. I let out a humph sound as i feel his shoulder dig into my stomach. He then jumps and i feel the air rush into my face, drying up my tears. I close my eyes feeling my hair moving around with the wind, as if it had a mind of its own.

Kire then lands and puts me on the ground. I then fall to the ground and begin to cry again. In the past 3 years i have only cried every once in a while. When i would watch a sad movie, like Marley and Me. Or Hashi or even the movie Me before you. I would cry and then i would wipe my tears. But never this much. I feel weak, and like a cry baby. I have never had to beg for anything in my life. I dont think I have ever been bad. So why am i being punished? Why is this happening?

I did accidently killed my hamster when i was thirteen but i didnt know the flash of the camara would shock him. I then ended up burring him in the ground. Maybe Mr. Kibble is getting his revenge because i later found out, hamsters dont die from flashes of camaras they simply go into death like shock. Oh I burried him alive and now he is getting his revenge!

"Human! Weeping wont ever solve anything." Kire says.

I keep crying into my hands.

"What happened?" I hear Fae's voice.

"You deal with her, Old Mother sent her to you. She is to stay with you, and you can show her the ropes around here." Kire says to Fae.

"Me?" Fae asks.

"I'll be going. Get her to stop crying." Kire says. I then hear wings flapping, the sound getting fainter and fainter.

"Athena?" I hear Fae's voice. "Are you ok?"

"No!" I say as i remove my hands from my face and wipe my nose with the back of my sleeve.

"What happened?" Fae asks.

"Old Mother wont let me leave!" I say.

"Oh yeah, i heard. The dragons are pissed." Fae says as she looks at the ground.

"Why make me stay knowing that the whole population don't want me here!" I say.

"Its for the safety of Underland." Fae says.

"I told Old Mother to let me prove myself! I wont say anything!" I cry once more. "Ugh stupid tears!" I am getting tired of crying.

Fae then puts her hand on my head.

"Crying is a part of life. It helps us reliefe stress. You have been through a lot in less than 2 days." Fae says. "Dont feel ashamed to let it out."

I look at her sweet blue eyes, her blue hair is in a French braid, with strands falling down the side of her face. She wears green cloth around her body like a tight dress.

She smiles at me and holds out her hand, waiting for me to take her hand. Once i take it she helps me up. I then look around me and notice a shift around me. We are much higher now. We are in one of the elevated grounds. One of the ones that float in the air.

They are making sure i stay here. I walk over to the edge, the ground making me dizzy. I look over the place where the entrance is, its so high up. But the exit is that way. I need to find a way to get there and climb it. I need to somehow find a way to escape this place.

"Athena?" I hear Fae's voice. I tunrn and face her.

"Yeah?"

"Come, my home is close by." Fae says. I follow her as we walk to her home. The homes here look just like Old Mothers little shacks. But theirs are more different, a lot of flowers i have never seen are blooming in many places. I see lots of colors around me. I then notice the pink haired lady that kissed me in the lips. She looks at me and smiles sofly and then hides away from me.

"Hollow! Dont be scared of Athena!" Fae says.

Hollow looks at Fae shocked. She begins to stutter and her cheeks glow pink.

"Its ok." I say trying to calm her.

She takes a deep breath and smiles. "Sorry, i just havent been around a human. Nevertheless kissed one."

"It was a shock for me too." I say trying to lightten the mood. Hollow then smiles. Her eyes open wide, and then I hear a thud. I turn to see Wyvern.

"Hey, i heard you were brough here." Wyvern says.

"Hi Wyvern!" Hollow smiles.

"Hollow, how are you?" Wyvern smiles.

Hollow smiles brightly. Hmm.

"What brings you here Wyvern?" Fae asks.

"I just wanted to know how Athena was." Wyvern says. "I heard."

I give him a small smile.

"I was taking Athena home, and then i am going to show her around." Fae says.

"Ah." Wyvern stands there awkwardly.

Fae then keeps walking and i follow her, Hollow walks beside me eyeing me every second. Her face full of many emotions. Curiosity, fear, sadness, there's a small hint of jealousy when Wyvern walks closer to me.

Ah so she likes Wyvern.

We then reach a cute bigger shack then the rest. The home has violets and wildflowers around the it. There's a little walkway towards the shack, and a small little porch, the door is crooked but cute. Fae opens the door and i follow her in. The shack is almost the same as Old Mother. But she doesn't have the fireplace like Old Mother, Fae's is more into the wall and smaller. There are makeshift pillows on the ground for it to be like couches. She doesn't have a rocking share by the window, but she does have a small round table with 2 chairs by the window. The little kitchen is very tidy, and adorable. There are 2 doors in her home. On the conner opposite the kitchen there's another small table, this one has books in them, about 7 of them. I can barely read them, but i think one of them says flowers.

Fae walks by one of the doors, she opens it and theres another round nest/bed in there.

"This one is your bedroom." Fae says. I walk towards it looking inside. "You can decorated how ever you would like."

I feel another round of tears threatening to spill. I miss my vanity table and my home. I miss mom calling me every five minutes. I swallow the tears and smile at her.

"Its cute." I say.

"Thanks." Fae smiles.

"What do you do for work?" I ask her.

"Work?" Fae looks at the others confused.

"Yeah, you work for money, to live here. To pay for food and water." I say.

Fae looks at me confused. "Pay for food?"

"And water?" Hollow asks.

"Well yeah."

"Is that what humans do? They pay to live in their home, and have to buy food?" Wyvern asks.

"You cant just go to a tree and get what you need?" Fae asks.

"No, we have to work, to have money, money in which we use to buy food and whatever necessary things that we need." I say.

They all look at in eachother in shock. "But earth already provides with that." Fae says.

"Well." I look down. Damn humans are destroying the earth.

"It seems unreasoble for you having to pay for food when its available on earth. The plants and trees grow in places that you have to buy these foods?" Hollow asks.

"Well kind of." I try to think of how it all works. "Well, theres orange trees, but they grow in some farm, where workers work for 8 hours each shift and collect the oranges and then they are sent to a factory, where more workers help the machine get the juice from the orange and then another line makes sure the bottles are lined up to be filled with the juice and then the bottles are sent to a*****e and thats where you buy it from." I say.

"What?" They all ask at once.

"Is everything like that?" Fae asks.

"Well yeah." I say. "I work for real estate, and thats selling houses."

"You sell houses, you dont build them?" Wyvern asks.

"No they are built by workers, and a lot has to be put in before they are able to be sold." I say.

"Wow earth sounds complicated." Hollow says.

"You are actually right." I say.

"And you are begging to go back?" Fae asks.

"I got used to the way it works." I say. "I have a life, a job, friends."

Fae looks at me. "I am sorry."

"You dont have to apologize." I say.

"Maybe youll get used to life here, if you get hungry theres trees, and plants to can get some food from." Fae says.

"What about meat?" I ask.

"You eat meat?" Hollow looks at me horrified.

"She eats like us dragons." Wyvern says.

"Oh." Hollow's face is full of relief.

I turn to Wyvern. "What type of meat do you have?"

"Whatever you can catch." Wyvern smiles.

I look at him blankly.

"Dont tell me you dont catch your meet?" Wyvern asks. "How do you get your meat on earth?"

I look at Fae and Hollow and think its better not to horrify them anymore, if i tell them about the pig slaughter houses or the chicken factories, they'll have a heart attack.

"I eat fish." I say slowly.

"Fish?" Fae asks.

"What?"

"Nothing, i thought you were going to say something bad like a feline or something." Hollow says.

"Feline? As in cast?" I ask.

Fae nods her head.

"Oh my God! No! They are considered family and yeah many countries do eat them, but not where i come from! Many people even treat them as babies." I say.

Hollow smiles. "Babies?"

"Yeah, and dogs too." I say.

Fae smiles relief washing through her body.

"Well we can go and collect whatever foods, you would like. The baskets are there." Fae points by the entrance of the door.

"And if you want you can come with me and we can get you some meat." Wyvern says.

Hollow shivers.

"I just wont eat it around you guys." I say.

Wyvern begins to laugh.

I look at all of them, they are kind to me, but i must go back. I need to leave. Maybe by Wyvern taking me to get meat will help me find a way to that entrance.
