Mermaids

Once we left Fae's place we walk around, she shows me where she mostly gets her fruits and vegetables and water. I meet more fairies. I watch them as most have powers, helping planting plants or other things. They talk among themselves when they see me.

Hollow smiles at them and walks next to me, feeling more relaxed.

Wyvern stays close to me, talking to me about Underland and where and what most creatures are at.

Mermaids are where the waterfall is. They love talking about themselves. When he tells me about them i think of Peter Pan's Neverland's mermaids. Mean and rude comes into my mind.

As a little girl i have always wanted to meet a mermaid. But growing up i knew they weren't real. I mean until now. Wyvern says they are nice, but just full of themselves.

The dragons are nice to everyone and help as much as they can, i then gave him a look but he raised his hands.

"Hey, we are very nice. Its just that they have their reasons to hate humans. I say give them time, and theyll come around." Wyvern says.

"Odette really hates me though." I say.

"She does tend to have a temper." Wyvern says. "But she is very sweet towards everyone, she protects the fairies mostly."

I remember when she threatened me. Telling me if anything happened to Fae, she would kill me. Wyvern tells me to have patience with her, to let her get to know me better, but she completely hates me, she almost killed me. She crushed my vocal cords, if it wasn't for that vile that they gave me i wouldn't be able to talk.

Wyvern keeps talking about everyone, but i stop paying attention. All i can think of is getting out. Leaving this place. Climbing that ledge, itll take a long while but ill be able to do it. I just need to get down on the bottom ground. Maybe Wyvern would take me, he seems nice.

I cant ask the others, cuz they'll kill me and say they helped me escape. I shiver at that thought.

"Are you ok?" Wyvern asks.

"Oh yes, i am fine." I say.

"Athena, what fruits do you like?" Fae asks. I look and notice all of the trees around me. Wow a lot of fruit, and small bushes. Oh my Strawberrys!

"You have strawberrys!" I exclaim. Wyvern smiles and picks one up and gives it to me, I take a bite and gasp at how delicious it is! Its the best strawberry i have ever tasted.

"Do you like it?" Hollow asks.

"Like it? I love it!" I say as i eat the rest of the Strawberrys.

"We usually plant them every other day, you can come and help if you like." Hollow says.

"Yeah that'll be great." I say. But i wont be here, i think to myself.

I pick out some fruits and vegetables.

"Hey, would you like to get some meat?" Wyvern asks.

"Yeah." I say.

"Ok, I am going to get some things ready for you." Fae says.

"Ok, ill be back soon." I tell her.

I follow Wyvern back to the edge.

"Are we going down there?" I ask him. I look down and feel dizzy at the height. Looks like about 50 feet drop. I back away and take a deep breath. Wyvern laughs.

"Scared of heights." Wyvern laughs.

"Not really." I say.

Wyvern smiles and shakes his head. "Come, hold on tight to me." Wyvern pulls me close, and puts my arms around his neck, i hold on tight and close my eyes as he lifts us both and we drop to the ground. I keep my eyes shut, and hold on tight.

"Ok, you can let go now." Wyvern laughs. I open my eyes and see we are on the ground. Its so amazing that a piece of land could be floating, how is it possible?

Thats where the fairies live. Wyvern begins to walk towards the back close to where the waterfall is. I can hear the splashes of the water.

Wyvern stops and looks at me, putting one finger on his lips. He gets low on the ground. I stand there watching him.

As he then strikes like a cobra his hand reaches and catches a rat. The rat cries and screams, and then Wyvern snaps his head. The screams stop and Wyvern hands me the rat.

Oh, they dont eat chickens? Or cows? As a matter of fact i havent seen a cow or even a sheep.

"Do you like rat?" Wyvern asks. I then notice i was making a face.

"I am more into chicken, or even fish." I say.

"Oh we dont have chickens. We used to long ago. But not anymore." Wyvern says. "But we can go and see if we can get fish."

"Ok." I say.

We then walk towards the waterfall, as we get closer i hear laughter. And then playful shrieks. Followed by splashes of water.

When we reach the waterfall, my jaw hangs open. Its so beautiful, so perfect. Theres glowing lights coming from the water, the same that were coming from the tree. Some of the glowing specks where coming towards me.

"Who is this?" I hear a sweet flowing voice ask. I look for the voice and see a girl with dark curly hair and darkened skin.

"Hello Sienna." Wyvern says.

"Hi Wyvern!" A bunch of other girls chime in. I am shocked to see so many more. Sienna comes out from behind the rock and swims towards us. I gasp at seeing her tail. A beautiful darkened blue with some white in the middle.

"What never seen a mermaid before?" Sienna asks laughing.

"So beautiful." I say without noticing.

The mermaids laugh and swim towards us. All of their tales in different shades yet almost alike.

"Hi i am Ria." A mermaid with blonde hair and freckles comes towards us.

"Hi." I say.

"I am Luz." A caramel skinned mermaid with long dark hair says. She comes closer to us and sits on the ground, she strethces out her hand towards me and i lean down next to her, mesmerized.

"I am Rain." A darkened skin mermaid, who looks like barbie comes towards me as well. Her skin is so glossy and beautiful. Her lips are soft and her nose button like. Her hair is long covering her breasts. As matter of fact, they all have long hair, covering their breasts. Rain, is very gorgeous. She would be a Victori Secret model if she were human.

Rain and Luz both take my hand and pull me closer to me. Wyvern then grabs my shoulder and pulls me back.

"No." She tells them.

"But Othniel said." Rain begin to say.

"What did he say?" I ask.

"He asked us to drown you, if we see you." A red head mermaid says.

"Oh come on girls." Othniel and Odette come out from behind the rocks.

I stand up abrutly angry. Othniel stands up from the water, he is naked, his body ripped and abbs glowing with the water dripping down his chest. Odette is still dressed, but her cloth are wet.

"Othniel you heard what Old Mother said." Wyvern tells Othniel.

"What did she say?" Luz asks.

"Athena here is under her protection and Kire's." Wyvern says.

The mermaids gasp and look at Othniel who begins to laugh.

"Othniel!" The mermaids shriek playfully.

"Relax i wouldn't have let them kill her." Othniel says.

"Just scare her." Odette says.

"Asshole." I say to Othniel and then turn around and walk away.

"It was nice meeting you Athena!" I hear Rain says.

Wyvern catches up to me. He grabs my arm and i pull away. I hate it here! Why are they making me stay here? I dont want to be here, i want to leave.

"Don't pay them any attention." Wyvern says. I don't say anything and just stomp away. I fold my arms across my chest and don't say anything. Wyvern then stops me.

"Come on, Ill fly you up." Wyvern says. He then picks me up bridal style, this time i don't close my eyes, but look around me as Wyvern flies me up into the fairy community. He lands in front of Fae's house. I get off if him and walk inside.

"Hey how was it?" Fae asks. I keep walking towards the room Fae has for me, and go in closing the door behind me. Wyvern tells Fae what happened at the waterfall with the mermaids.

I lay on the makeshift bed and close my eyes. I need to leave this place already, i am tired of it all.

Before i know it i am beginning to fall asleep, but Fae knocks on the door.

"Athena?" Fae asks worridly.

"Yes." Fae opens the door and looks at me.

"I am sorry about Othniel, he isnt this mean." Fae says.

"He is mean to me because i am a human! Just because humans a long time ago hurt your kinds, doesnt mean i am the same!" I snap. "I just want to leave this place!"

"I am sorry you are feeling this way." Fae says.

"I just wish Old Mother would just let me leave. I dont want to be bullied." I say.

Fae stares at me in sadness. She looks away, she then gets up and walks up to the doorway. "I can go talk with Kire."

"No, they arent going to listen." I say.

"Yes they will. Kire is like their leader." Fae says. "Well he is like our leader."

"Just leave it." I say. I need to figure this out. I bring my legs to my chest and hug my knees. I then smell something bad. Yuck is that me?

I smell my arm pits and cringe.

"I need a shower." I say.

"Oh, i got you something to wear." Fae says. She walks out and then comes back with a dark piece of cloth, and hands it to me. I look at it, the cloth looks like a dark blue. "Hollow said itll make your eyes brighter."

"Thanks." I said.

"And I am sure Othniel is done, we can go back. So you can clean up. Not to be rude but i can smell you as well." Fae says with a smile.

"Do you have any soap?" I ask.

"Soap?" Fae asks. "We have lavender aromas."

"That'll work." I say.

"Ok, lets go." Fae says, once we go back outside Fae tells me more about their little village, I ask her about her this piece of land is floating in the air. She mentions how the tree that i saw lets them have the magic they have been born with. It give them a special place of their own. Fae says she still doesnt understand the magic of the tree. Long ago there were plenty of them. But they burned down when the humans attacked.

That tree is the only known surviving tree, and the story behind it is lost to them in the fires.

"Wait how am i going to get down?" I ask Fae.

"Oh right." She looks around. "Wyvern!" Wyvern then appears and smiles.

"Are you feeling better?" Wyvern asks.

"I want to clean up." I say.

"Hop on." Wyvern says. I jump into his arms and he takes me down. He sets me down on my feet. Fae glides down with her beautiful wings. I'll never get used to that. She is so magestic and beautiful. She lands gracefully on the ground, like a ballerina.

"Thank you. I can take it from here." Fae said. "Oh is Othniel away from the falls?"

"Yes, Kire is speaking to him and Odette." Wyvern said.

"You told Kire?"

"Yes, Old Mother told everyone not to harm you, and you could have been hurt." Wyvern says,

"So now i wont just be hated because i am a human, but also a snitch." I say.

"A snitch?" Wyvern asks. "I am the snitch. Plus like i said you could have been hurt."

I sigh and close my eyes. "Thank you." I say trying not to sound ungrateful to the ones that are helping me. "Now if you excuse me, i need to clean up."

"Ok, ill see you later." Wyvern says.

"See you later Wyvern." Fae says. We then make our way to the waterfall, but take a different direaction to a small little pool.

"Oh its so pretty." I say.

"Yeah and its away from the prying eyes of the mermaids." Fae says.

"Here, ill give you some privacy, just rub some of the oil on your skin once you are in the water, and here is some for you hair." Fae gives me some small bottles.

"Which one is which?" I ask her.

"The pink one is the lavender oil, and the white one is flower dew, to help clean your hair." Fae says. "It makes it super soft too. Although your hair is nice already."

"Thanks." I say.

Fae then leaves me alone. I look around and take off all of my clothes. My sports sweater has dirt on the back, and so does the leggings. My socks smell disgusting. Yuck. I grab the little bottles and get inside the small pool, its not too warm yet not too cold. It feels good. I deep myself comepletly in and then come back to the surface.

"Hello." I shriek when i hear a voice. I turn to see Rain looking at me as she lays on top of some rocks that divide their section and this little bath pool.

"Oh hi." I say as i deep myself in more.

"I am sorry about Othniel, we didnt know about what Old Mother said." Rain says.

"Its fine."

"They are usually very nice. But you are a human." Rain plays with her hair.

"Yes i know humans destroy things. But i wasnt there when humans destroyed anything." I say.

"I know, but the dragons just seem to have a lot of hate towards humans." Rain says.

"Why is that?" I ask.

"Ask Kire, he'll tell you." Rain says.

Kire, he has been kind of nice. He is very tall and strong as well.

"So how are you adjusting to your new home?" Rain asks. I look at the water. This isnt my home. It'll never be. I then relize i have a good opportunity now. To get out.

I am here, and the mermaids cant get out of the water and follow me. Fae is gone doing something.

"Its good, i am going to finish up washing up." I say.

Rain smiles and nods. "Ok, i know how most of everyone likes their privecy." She then is gone behind the rocks.

I finish cleaning myself up. I srcub hard and fast. Ugh no time for that. My heart begins to speed up as i become nervous. I am getting out of here fast.

I get out and look at my clothes. and then at the piece of cloth that looks like a strapless dress.

Fuck it! I put on the piece of cloth and start making my way towards the ledge. I need to find a way to climb it. Wont be as hard as rock climbing.

I did that back in middle school, when i was in summer camp, of coarse they were the rock climbing type of walls, but i got this if i try as hard.

I run fast and then i feel like i hit a brick wall. I am falling forward as i collied with someone. we end up on the steep ground and end up rolling down until we stop, I am laying on top of someone. I sit up and see i am straddle whoever the man is. His chest and body is rock hard. His hands immediately go my waist the warmness of his hands sends an electric shock that runs through my body, he then lifts his head looks directly at me. Oh god! Its Othniel. He is naked and my cloth is pulled up, so my naked lower half is on top of him. My heart speeds up. We are making full contact. I can feel my cheeks heating up.

His shocked eyes are then filled with anger. I try to get up, but he gets a tight hold on to my waist. Which makes my body fall forward, my hands land back on his rock-hard chest. My hair covering most of my face.

"What do you think you are doing human?" Othniel asks. I lean myself up and try to pry his hands from my waist, but he holds on tight, his nails digging into my skin.

"Let me go!" I say, grunting as i try to break free from his unusual hold.

"Why were you running?" He asks.

"That is none of your business!" I yell at him. He then sits up quick and flips us over, I feel a sharp rock dig into my back. I let out a grunt of pain.

Othniel gets on top of me grabbing my hands and holding them on top of my head.

"Let go!" I yell as i try to pull my hands from his tight grip, i try not to look down at his thickened manhood.

"No, human!" Othniel says.

"Ugh let me go! You are hurting me!" I say as i try to lift my back from the rock, tears threatening to spill from my eyes.

"Why were you running?" Othniel asks. "Did you think you could escape?"

"No!" I lie. I try to think of a lie. "I saw a spider!"

"A spider?" Othniel laughs. "Don't you lie to me!"

"It's true i am scared of spiders!" I lie. Well, it's not really a lie, i am terrified of small insects. "Now let me go!"

Othniel stares at me his face his lips curled and his teeth showing. His face showing full disgust towards me, he then let's go of me, I lift my body off the ground, the sharp pain running through me because of the damn rock. I try to fix the damn cloth, Othniel looks at me, many emotions run through his face. His expression then changes into anger.

I start to become scared as he looks angry. Is he going to hurt me? Do something stupid? He then gets up and leaves, and fast. Leaving me all alone. What the hell was that? No matter, glad he is gone, and didnt do anything to hurt me further. Ugh my back is killing me.

I get up and begin to walk rubbing the spot where the rock was digging into.

"Athena! There you are." Fae says, f**k. I missed my opportunity.

Fucking stupid dragon!

"What happened to you?" Fae asks as she looks me up and down. Damn I am all dirty again. Why was he naked?

"I saw a spider and ran; I can go back and clean up." I say.

"Well, Othniel went to clean himself up, could be a while." Fae says.

I grunt annoyed at that bastard. How much i hate him. He is such a jerk! An asshole.

"Did you say you saw a spider? And then you ran?" Fae asks.

I look at her and bite my lip. "Yeah."

"Why?"

"I am scared of spiders, well insects in general." I say.

"What? But they are so sweet." Fae says.

"Sweet? How would you know that?"

"Because i talk to them." Fae stares at me as we walk back.

"You can understand them?"

"Yeah, we fairies are able to speak to animals and insects, we know their songs and their needs." Fae smiles. "Don't you hear their songs at night?"

"I hear them i just don't pay attention."

"They won't hurt you." Fae says.

"They still freak me out." I say.

Fae laughs as we walk back. I look back at the ledge. My heart sinking, if it wasn't for that stupid dragon i could have made my escape.
