FIERY HEART

524 Words
Opened the door in thrilled grip, she saw nobody in the room, she ran right through into the hallway vaguely as if she wanted to breakfree from the chains of torment. "Noel! Why didn't you tell me! I expected so much from you!... that you love me too but what have you done! I hate you so much for hurting me this bad!" Leah sobbed. Tears were pouring down relentlessly like rain on a river flowing. She whimpered quietly as her heavy tread along the hallway killed the silence of the mansion. "What was that??" Ellen woke up by the disturbance of noise coming outside. "Okay! I'll check on it." Noli took the gas lamp. He followed the sounds of the footsteps. "Where else could I go?? I don't know where should I be now?? Where am I or should I say when am I?? " Leah said in hazy thoughts. In the foggy shade of the night, she saw an unclosed storage room outside the mansion, she went there throbbing in fears. Her anguished heart now became petrified for she sensed that she was being followed from afar by a shadowy figure of a man carrying a lamplight swinging. "Oh my?!.." Leah was terrified. She ducked onto the pile of woods in the end corner of the storage to hide herself. Noli suddenly stopped in the front of their storage. A not so enormous room, made of wooden resembled of dust filled inside with pile of woods that are being use in dirty kitchen and some hays to be eaten by their livestocks. "Hey! Show off yourself! Who are you!" He shouted. He knew that there was someone intruded his house. "I knew you are there!" Then Ellen came rushing when she heard the shouting voice of his husband. She clasped worriedly in Noli's arms. "If you don't want to show yourself, I'll make you as my dogs' snack!!" Ellen said in timorous voice. Leah can't even look onto the couple who were in the doorway of the storage. She was blinded by the brightness coming through the light of the gas lamp. She covered her mouth with her bare hands for an absolute stillness and avoidance of making any sounds. Noli and Ellen took a step forward leading by the light of the gas lamp he was carrying. Leah drenched in her own sweat trying not to take a single breath. She closed her eyes tensionally, for the couple is just a shelf away from her and then boom! Noli and Ellen saw her crumpled hugging her legs, trembling in sweats anxiously. "Say your name!" As Noli pointed the gas lamp unto Leah's face. Leah didn't respond instead she stood and pushed away the hand of Noli causing him to accidentally dropped the gas lamp. An urged to run off was the only thing that running through Leah's mind that time. As she managed to escape, she looked back on the storage room and a fiery red blazing fire hit her on face. "Mama! Papa!........... " Five year old Noel cried out loud as he witnessed his parents in the ferocious fire.
