Chapter IX

                                                                                   With eyes on the enemy

                  While Argon gave orders to pay attention to Corvin's arrival, Blackscar was increasingly worried that Corvin's return would take longer and that his mission would become more difficult, because Rohan wanted to despair Corvin's head. After finishing his job, Argon returned to the meeting room and approached the king, speaking to him.

                  -Blackscar, do you think it's okay to help Corvin?

                  - What do you mean?

                   - If we help him, we will be Rohan's target and you will realize that he will attack us, or he will send orcs as he did with Corvin's village.

                    - Argon, you must understand that we must help him and even if we do not help him, we are still his target. Remember, we are tied to this fight, whether we want it or not.

                    -All right. Then we should prepare for any eventuality, said Argon as he smiled. If we are still helping him start the war, then we should be prepared for any attack.

                      -Yes. But everything should be secret. Go to the blacksmith shop and tell them to prepare as many weapons, armor, shields and arrows as possible, but not to do so much l**t as to observe the world, and double guard at each tower and gate.

                        - I understood.

                         Corvin's greatest and hardest mission was to unite all nations. and some of them were very difficult to convince. It was not known when the war would begin, but they had to be prepared for any eventuality. Corvin had to do so that the other nations would renew the treaty that was once. King Blackscar was beginning to look more and more anxious for Corvin's arrival and to see if he found any trace of dragons, but he could not think of him alone, he had other things to do.

                      - I ordered everything to be done, but quietly, without anyone finding out. I put Tom to wait at the door behind the castle to see Corvin

                       - It's good. Have you seen any movement at the gate?

                       -No. It's quiet, but we won't sleep on one ear. I sent out-of-the-village scouts dressed in peasant clothes, and as soon as he saw any movement to report to me.

                        - I understood. I want a report every day, we need to be prepared. Did you find out anything about where the magicians could be found?

                      -No. It seems they don't want to be found or they don't even exist anymore.

                      - Of course there are, but they will be harder to find than the rest. At least we know where they were last seen? Blackscar asked.

                        -Yes. They were last seen about 200 years ago in Vally of the Dooms.

                        - Vally of the Dooms?

                        - Yes, but that place is full of bandits and robbers. I doubt that the magicians still live there.

                        - That's right. Try to find out something more, and tell the librarian to bring me everything he has about magicians, parchments, anything. We need to know as much as possible until Corvin arrives.

                       The librarian had to search through many shelves, but did not know if he had much to look for. The magicians had disappeared long ago, and at the same time, everything related to them was gone.

                       Winter was getting closer, and the forest in front of the village became starker, making it easy for enemies to be seen from the towers that linked the walls between them.
