PROLOGUE"Sometimes, love does not arrive with fireworks or grand gestures. Sometimes it comes disguised as a simple notification on your phone."The rain had just begun to fall over Port Harcourt.Tiny droplets danced against Tiffany's office window as she leaned back in her chair, rubbing the bridge of her nose. It had been another exhausting day.Running L'Opulent Cosmetics was far less glamorous than most people imagined.Behind every glowing skincare product was a woman who answered customers herself, packed orders late into the night, created marketing content, balanced accounts, worried over delayed deliveries, and still managed to smile at everyone. At thirty years old, Tiffany had learned to depend on one person.Herself.Love?That chapter had remained unwritten. She wasn't searching anymore. If it happened, fine.If it didn't, life would still go on.Her phone vibrated.A new w******p notification.Unknown Number. She adjusted her glasses and opened the message.Hi Tiffany 👋She smiled politely.Probably another customer.Without hesitation, she typed.Welcome to L'Opulent Cosmetics N' Co. Ltd. I am Tiffany. Please tell us your name and how we can help you.Less than a minute later came the reply. This is Estein... the architect.Another message followed.I'm currently on my way home now. I'll call you as soon as I arrive safely.Tiffany stared at the screen for a second. That was unexpected. Most customers hurried straight to prices. This one had introduced himself first. She replied simply.Alright. Be safe. She locked her phone and returned to work. She had no idea that those three words—Be safe.—would become the beginning of a conversation that neither of them would ever truly leave.Nearly three hundred kilometers away, thirty-three-year-old Estein Nwosu smiled as he read her message while waiting at a traffic light. His day had been brutal.Construction meetings.Blueprint revisions.Unexpected client complaints.Phone calls that never seemed to end.Yet somehow...One simple message from a woman he had never met softened the weight on his shoulders."Be safe."Such ordinary words. But they didn't feel ordinary. He couldn't explain why.Maybe because she sounded genuine.Maybe because kindness had become so rare that even small doses felt extraordinary. He placed his phone on the passenger seat. For the first time that day...he looked forward to getting home. Not because he wanted to rest.Because he wanted to keep talking to a stranger.Neither Tiffany nor Estein knew what the months ahead would hold. There would be long conversations after difficult days.Calls that stretched into laughter.Business discussions that somehow turned into personal confessions.Good morning messages that became routine.Prayers exchanged across cities.Moments of silence.Moments of misunderstanding.Moments of reconnection. And somewhere between skincare consultations, architectural drawings, family conversations, football banter, voice notes, and late-night phone calls...two strangers would slowly become the safest place either of them had ever known.Because sometimes...love doesn't begin with "I love you."Sometimes...it begins with..."Hi."And before either of them realized it—their conversations had quietly begun to feel like home.

CHAPTER ONE A Message from an Architect
The first week of October arrived with the quiet confidence of new beginnings. For Tiffany, Mondays always started before sunrise. By six o'clock, she was already reviewing customer orders, responding to overnight enquiries, and planning content for L'Opulent Cosmetics. She believed that if people trusted her with their skin, they deserved more than products—they deserved honesty, patience, and care. She often joked to herself that her phone worked harder than she did. Yet, despite the constant stream of messages, one conversation had quietly found a place in her thoughts. The architect. Estein. He wasn't the loudest person she'd spoken to, nor the most flirtatious. In fact, he was surprisingly reserved. But there was something comforting about the way he communicated—calm, respectful, never in a hurry. That evening, just as she was closing her laptop, her phone lit up again. Estein: Good evening, Tiffany. A small smile curved across her lips. She replied almost immediately. Tiffany: Good evening, Estein. How are you doing? His response came a minute later. I'm well. Just a little stressed with work today. She frowned slightly. Architects, she imagined, carried entire buildings in their minds before a single brick was laid. I'm sorry about that, she replied. I hope tomorrow is kinder. Estein stared at her message and chuckled. Most people would have changed the subject. She hadn't. She had acknowledged how he felt before asking for anything else. He appreciated that. Thank you, he typed. How's your business going? Busy, she answered. But I'm grateful. Busy means people trust me. He admired that answer. She wasn't complaining. She was grateful. It said a great deal about the kind of woman she was. For the next hour, their conversation wandered naturally—from work to family, from favorite meals to childhood memories, from cities they had lived in to the little things that made them laugh. Neither of them noticed how quickly time slipped away. Then Estein glanced at the clock. 8:17 p.m. He hesitated before typing. Would you mind if I called instead? She looked at the message and smiled to herself. Most people wanted to text. He preferred hearing voices. There was something refreshing about that. She replied with a playful tease. You really don't enjoy typing, do you? A laughing emoji appeared almost instantly. Not at all. Conversations sound better than messages. She laughed softly. Perhaps... he was right.
