“Ember?” I hear Philip say.
She looked away from us and started to make her way back to what I think she a office.
We followed her and eventually caught up with her as she tried closing the door to the room she entered.
“Ember, it’s me Philip.”
“I don’t remember you.” She said and looked away from Philip.
“I know you do. Remember when we meet few months back I think and I brought you to my house but you suddenly disappeared and since then I couldn’t find you.”
“I do remember you Philip, but why are you here?”
“I’m glad to see you. I apologize about what so even happened back then.”
“I’m over it Philip, it was your fault. The person who should be apologizing seems to ne acting ignorant and staring at me like a pig.”
“Hey, watch your tone with me. Do you know who I am?”
“If it’s not the man who likes to bed other women , who els e will it be. Well, I’m not one of those women you think you can lure to your bed with look or whatever so do me the kindness of getting out of my face.”
“Who employed such a staff who lacks manners? Where is your manager?” I turned to ask one of the ladies amidst the rest who came to see what all the talking was about.
“She is the manager.” She lady pointed out and I turned to find my mate armed crossed and glaring at me angrily.
“Philip, I’ll like you to take your friend with you and leave my building.”
“I don’t blame you, it’s how rogues behave.” I said angrily. I was already tired of her tantrums.
“Well,I think I’ve had enough already don’t you think? Now get out before I call the police.”
“I won’t be leaving without you MATE.” I said loudly to everyone surprise.
“What do you mean by MATE Logan?”
“I’ll explain it to you Philip on our way home. And I’m sure you know the mate bond between the two of us from all your tantrums. But what I don’t understand is why you hate me.”
“And you’ll never know about it , so leave.”
“I’m sorry for how things turned out today Ember, I apologize and we will be on our way.”
“You’re such a good guy Philip, I hope your friend can learn from you and not act non chalant.”
I was about to ask more questions but Philip was already dragging me out and the whispering was getting much. I know I’ll be in the news today but I didn’t care.
What I care about now is making my mate accept marrying me before the day of my engagement.
Back in the car, I try my best to calm down and try to understand the situation.
“You both know yourselves?” I asked Philip who was lean towards the steering wheel.
“Yes we do and I can’t believe you don’t remember her to.”
“If I had remembered her I would have acted like I did.”
“She was the girl I brought back home and you sent out all because she looked filthy to you.”
“Well, I do remember that night you kept on asking me about the girl whom you brought home.”
“Well, she’s the one and I can remember she had a child.”
“What? A child??”
“Yes, his name is Lucian.”
I tried to understand how my mate had a child or could it be that she has a mate already?
But I didn’t seen any mark on her neck for me to conclude that she has a mate.
“Could you help me run a background check on her??”
Even rogues do have records, so finding hers should be that difficult.
I didn’t like what fate was doing to me. One hand I’ve found my mate the other hand she hates me and also have a child.
We got home and I waited a while for Philip to get back to me before I called my dad to tell him about the good news.
A beep and it was a message from dad telling me that I’m to meet with the bride to be in two days time.
Shit! I’m so exhausted, I’ve never had to stress about something but here I am.
Philip walked in looking as tired as I am.
I found nothing on her which is kinda weird. The only thing I found was that someone is bearing Ember but I don’t think there are related.
“Who is it?” I asked curiously.
“Gabriel’s wife. Her maiden name is also Ember. But I don’t see any connection that has to do with Ember.”
This was going to be a tough one, I couldn’t find the records of Ember in the citizens database. Or could it be she has no family or from another city?
“It’s fine Philip. My dad just texted that I’m to meat with Grabriel daughter. But to think of it, I’m aware he has two so, which is to be my bride?”
“Let’s just wait for when we are to meet them.”
“I’m sorry Philip, if only I didn’t send her out, she wouldn’t be so hard on me.”
“It’s fine. Now, I hope you’ll stop your lifestyle and try to win her heart back.
“Logan.”
I heard my father call for me from downstairs. I wondered what could be the issue this time.
“Where did you go today, you’re in the news and what am I hearing about a mate all of a sudden.
“Well, let’s say I found my mate.”
“Few days to your engagement? This shouldn’t be one prank to avoid responsibility Son.”
“This isn’t one of those days dad and why did you suddenly fix my marriage with Gabriel after many years of not liking one another.”
“Nothing.”
The was more to my dads reply but I didn’t want to drag the matter further with him. It’s either he was hiding something or Gabriel was up to some mischief.
“You’ll have to marry his daughter.”
“I’ve found my mate and so there’s no need to go in with this stupid marriage Anyways. You won’t force me.”
“Remember you’re my don and you have to obey me.
“But you’re not the Alpha, I am. And my decision is final, you may leave.” I said and turned my back and walked away from him.
“LOGANNN, come back here.” He shouted but I did take him seriously. I’ll find out why he was persistent on me getting married to Leo’s daughter.
