Chapter Eighteen

LOGAN POV

Seeing her sitting on the couch made me believe that she has finally accepted the mate bond not until the reason why she came was finally made clear to me.

I won’t blame her for making me her first suspect, I would do the same too.

She really is going to make it hard for me to claim her and dad has been on my neck to show him who my mate is and get the wedding and bonding ceremony done with.

I don’t want to get married to her as much as I want to claim her, I need to find out who’s son she is caring for first. But details about her are not adding up. After Philip checked for her information days ago, we couldn’t tell if she was really born a rogue or was exiled.

No records of her was found. And this has raised my level of suspicion about her. Even though her body is so tempting that I want to bend her few minutes ago and do nasty things that would make her beg, I need to find the truth about my mate.

“Hey man.” Philip said while popin his head through the door and scanning around for one person.

“She left.” I said before he could ask.

“Did the talk go well?”

I just wanted to ignore him but knew how Philip could be once I don’t tell him what’s on my mind. I told him about Ember accusing me of k********g her friend Lia.

“You shouldn’t have made such a threat.”

“I thought she would, Yunno submit if I gave her a little threat.”

“Well, now you just ended up in a worst condition.” Philip said with a smile. I hate him soo much for that smile.

“Well, I could make her believe that I am not responsible.” I added.

“Nice. How would you do that?” He asked and I stared out the window trying to figure out what I was about to do.

The vibration of my phone from my pocket brought me back to the present. One look at the screen and I stared at Philip who seem to understand.

“I’m out. You deal with him alone.” He said before running out of the house.

I hate been pestered especially when it come from my own father.After ignoring his call twice, the old man went ahead to text stating that he was on his way to the house.

Don’t get me wrong, I love dad because he was the reason I am what I am today after mom abandoned me.

Today was a bit of a rough day for me and I could only hope that he wouldn’t want to scold me. But from the look on his face I knew that I would definitely get the scolding of my life.

“I raised you to be a better person, what trash am I hearing on the news?”

“Isn’t it one of the regular Alpha Logan seen outside with ladies and drunk? Don’t make it look new dad.” I said as I tried to get up but his next statement makes me freeze for a while.

“Did you kidnap anyone son.” He asked in a low tone but with a deep frown.

“What!! Who told you that?” I asked just to confirm if Ember reorted to him like she had said.

“It’s was in the news before I tired my best to take it down. Now I need answers. Did you do it?”

“Why would you ask me such a question dad? I am you son!! And you know what I am capable of doing and what I am not.”

“I just needed to hear from you. So if you didn’t do it who did and why is the blame on you?” He asked.

“I don’t know, I am as confused as you are. I’m going to do some investigation about this.” I said with determination and I had one person who I needed to teach a lesson.

“Fix this before it gets to the ears of the other Alphas I don’t want them to take your position from you.”

“I will get it solved dad.” I said as I paced around the sitting room.

How could she go to the extent of taking this matter to the news. Seems I have been lenient enough but not any more.

Dad left after asking about pack matters and account which I did show him and discussed the cause of k********g which seemed to be on an increase.

I called the heard of my protocol team, Michael to investigate on the missing woman Lia. Unlike Ember, she had many useful informations about herself and how she became a rogue.

The next thing on my list was to dispatch a team of werewolves to go in search of her and bring back informations.

Next, was to pay my mate a good visit.

I had a nice bath to calm myself and then stepped on the gas to Embers place. The house where she lived looked old but moderate, one that someone won’t know people lived in. I saw shadows walking around the house through the window and I was glad that Atleast someone was around.

I pressed the door bell and waited for a response, shock and surprise was what I got from my mate once she opened the door.

“You get this kind of visits when you decide to annoy the devil.” I said with a frown.

“What are you doing here Logan and how did you know my place?”

“You have no right to question me now after what you have done.” I said with a loud voice allow my Alpha aura to take over. She took few steps backwards due to the impart of my aura but I didn’t care.

“You dare try to embarrass and accuse me of what I didn’t do. But that wasn’t enough, you went to the media.”

“What are you talking about.” She asked as she bowed her head.

“You know very well what I am talking about, but don’t worry I’ll get you to apologize for the mess you have just caused.” I said as I dragged her by the hand.

“She is going no where with you.” A woman in her late fifties stepped out with a frown.

“Were you never taught how to treat women?” She asked angrily but I wasn’t going to allow an old lady lecture me.

“Come with me Ember or I take your son.” I said and their eyes widen in shock as the realized how intense and serious my threat was.

Both women looked at themselves before my mate turned to look at me with tears in her eyes, but I didn’t seem to care. She needed to be punished for what she had done.

“I’ll come.” Was her reply as she walked towards my car and me following behind. Atleast, I took her from her home in a respectful way other than sending my men who would have been very harsh on her.
