The whole thing was like a surreal vision, he was rooted in place as he watched the oddity ongoing, Following the same pattern continuously, the twisted strands began another rotation as a curved pattern began to form, after a full rotation and absorption for a good while the rotation stopped as another two strands each of the two longer than the last, another cycle again had three new strands of light appearing twisted in a peculiar manner as an odd curve began to form. Several cycles later with increasing twisted strands, a curved spiral had been formed that rotated slowly as it continued to absorb the white motes of light around it. It took the shape of a drill spiral as it rotated enigmatically, Isaac could feel a pulsing power that resonated with him from it. He stared at the spiral that slowly towered to an endless height, this continued for a time, until suddenly the spiral stopped its rotation and then with a single rotation from the bottom up, the now white spiral curve of light turned golden. The moment the entire structure turned golden, the spiral curve made of light disintegrated as it all condensed into a ball of golden light, looking closer you could see the vague outline of the golden spiral as it spun endlessly releasing waves of strange power, the whole process had seemingly ended but Isaac was as confused as he could be. He stretched out a hand to make contact with the condensed light when he heard an ancient voice reverberate all around him and into his ears.
......
“Jaden Miguel… Isaac Alexus… it’s a marvel to see one with the heights you’ve reached considering the number of years you’ve lived… and yet here you are, weak and broken inside, your wounds healing slowly at best…”
An ancient voice spread out through the boundless space that glowed with the deepest black, shocked to hear a voice I could only ask in response,
“Astral… is that you, why the hell are you talking so differently… you already give me headaches when I talk to you, don’t complicate my thought process any further…”
The voice resounded again without a change in tone or emotion in it, like it was coming from a deep ancient well, quiet yet boundless as it spread.
“It is not the soul merged within that you hear speaking; I am…… I am sorry, it has been so long that I can not remember what I was known to be, so you can recognize me as the pillar of earth you placed your hands on not very long ago…”
“What…” confusion filled me before I suddenly realized something, “Wait, pillar of earth, not long ago… you’re the origin pillar?!”
“Indeed I am…”
I was what they called shell shocked at the moment, my mind raced all over the place, Adam had said the pillar was sentient, but he never mentioned it to be able to converse with anyone, it was more like a system that was programmed to do one thing and one thing alone, but this was a voice speaking and it wasn’t Astral ’s voice, I wondered if I was beginning to hear things…”
Noticing the confused state Isaac was stuck in, the voice spoke up again, “I understand your confusion but I should ask you not to think too much on at this point, you are at your weakest point right now and there is no need to know anything now at this point, I am speaking to you now to allow the other soul within you to take in what I have to say and be your proper guide along the way…”
It was at this point that another voice resounded across the space, this time it was a voice I recognized, it was Astral’s,
“…This aura, this boundless feeling, what… are you…”
Although he sounded calm, I could feel the anxiety in his voice and it made me uncomfortable. I have to say, although I was always frustrated because of it but Astral was always one to speak confusing words and was never agitated, the tone of his voice had been the same at all point, perhaps only when he first spoke to me during the day we encountered those bandits was the only day I had ever felt him speaking with a different tone, but it was a slight tinge of emotion, nothing more. But I could hear his voice now and it was filled with a deep sense of astonishment and caution.
But he was replied with the same vague answer as I was,
“There is no need to keep asking questions, naturally when you’re ready, when you’re strong enough, you will receive all the answers, what I want from you now is to be his guide like you have been aiming to and put him through all what he needed to know.”
“…”
With no reply from either of us, he continued speaking without a change, I almost felt I was possibly hearing things but that didn’t seem to be the case here.
“Will… his will is strong, it has weathered through many things and had undergone something like an evolution, in the future it will be his strongest force, one unimaginably powerful in its own right, but it also not something like I know, the power of the will is not a trivial order law, it spans all over the fated and the fateless, the living and the dead, the corporeal and the ethereal, none like it can ever achieve an accomplishment like it can…”
At this point, I had a feeling that whatever the voice was, it probably meant no harm, right? If it was aiming to destroy me, I don’t see why I should still be alive, if it was the voice of the origin pillar then it obviously different to it, and I had a strange feeling hearing it every time”
“The infinite spiral of continuation is a sacred method, the only method that can be used to train the power within him. It’ll be the base of his class, the key to his growth, I do hope you understand what I am saying…”
I was about to voice my confusion at his words again when Astral spoke again like he was outside beside me, not inside my head like I always hear him speak, “Yes I do, I appreciate your guidance, I’ll be sure to make the most of it for him.”
Wait… was I being left out of the conversation? this could not be any more than it already is…
“I will take your word for it…” the voice continued, then I felt something focus on me and I knew the next words were for me this time… “You have a split soul that has only begun to heal properly now, you cannot bare too much till you are fully whole again, I fear time will be wasted if you are left to heal alone, so let me help you while I can…”
Another ball of golden light flashed into existence a distance away from me, I felt a sensation from it that seemed oddly familiar yet distant and unclear, before I had time to ponder it, the ball of golden light moved at a ghostly speed as it reached my face in the blink of an eye and in the next instant, it exploded into two streams of golden light as it flowed into me, through my eyes to exact. All I could see was gold light that shone into the depths of my soul.
By the time I was able to clearly see again, I was feeling a bit off as I actually swayed where I stood but then the voice spoke again,
“You’re leaving now… I hope when we meet again like so, you’ll be much more than you are now.”
And with that, the first golden ball of light containing the image of the towering spiral flew towards me as well but that was all I noticed before I closed my eyes, my mind overflowing at the moment.
It had been an about thirty minutes outside since Isaac had made contact with the pillar, and yet he was still frozen like a statue. I felt anxiousness creeping in again but while I felt such, I could faintly sense an aura enveloping me gently at the moment, I knew whose it was since I had just felt not too long ago. But I understood what he said now, so I could wait patiently as I tried to absorb all what had happened to me while I made contact with the tower, while I had picked the berserker class, I hadn’t yet checked anything out, I was too unfocused when I left that white hall where I felt my mind being pulled to at first. I was unsure of what were the things to do next so I was about to ask Adam, when suddenly a golden light flashed in front of the tower and Isaac was standing there looking dazed and confused. He seemed a bit off but before I was able to even say anything, I saw Adam putting a hand on his shoulder as he looked into the former’s eyes, obviously he acted to move immediately he saw the flash. I began to sprint my way to him and I was in front of him in a few seconds, Hiya who was at the back followed as she moved at a constant pace, not bothering to rush.
I was just in time to hear Adam ask Isaac a question,
“What class did you choose for yourself…”
Isaac made eye contact with Adam for a while, then looked away like he was trying to focus on a thought. This happened for a while until he opened his mouth to say three words,
“Order of Will…”
And then like he had hit in the head, his head bent backwards as his eyes closed, no doubt he would have fallen if Adam hadn’t been holding on to him.
Adam brought him down to a sitting posture as he muttered to himself, his eyes shining with a strange light, “Looks like something’s to change very soon…”
I couldn’t be bothered to hear his words as I felt confusion at the three words spoken by the fainted, I looked to my side to see Hiya with a deeper confusion, she looked at Isaac as she muttered to herself as well, “Order… of… will? what is that?”
“….”, she was just like me as she had obviously had no knowledge of what Isaac had just said, I had a feeling she knew more things than I did, and not by a small margin, so for her not to have heard as well the name of a class, there was nothing left for me to say,
I looked at him, sitting on the floor passed out like he just took a blugger to the head when all he did was place a palm on the origin pillar not far from us, something I just touched not at all long before he did, I stared at him for a while before I looked to Adam as well who held on to him and held him like one would hold a wounded comrade, we had only just known him for a month or so now yet he was this close to Isaac already when not much had been said between them.
It was now I knew that the feeling I had that day with the bandits wasn’t one to be dismissed. I couldn’t help the thought that formed in my head either
‘What kind of a person did I make friends with… oh well, you don’t know you don’t say’.
