Episode 36.

A short silence later, Isaac let out a sigh “How long have I been passed out?”

“About two days…”

“Oh… that’ s a long time.”

“Yeah it is, now what’d you want to do”

Confusion in his eyes, Isaac replied “What’d you mean, you’re the one who’s been making the decisions, why ask me now”

Adam chuckled a little as he realized he was subconsciously already slipping back to the subordinate position after Isaac was seemingly gaining his memories, it was okay anyways, there wasn’t anyone who wouldn’t be content with following him if they knew him for who he was, in the past and in the present still.

‘Status!’

I yelled out a command in my mind and swiped a hand as a wave of light coalesced in front of me to form a hologram of data, it showed some stats,

                           Rank: Nil

                           Strength: 12

                           Speed: 15

                           Flexibility: 13

                           Constitution: 14

                               Special attributes:

                             -Racial:

                           -   Flame manipulation

                             -Class:

                           _   Will manipulation

Yeah it was a status screen, the same kind that showed the information that can’t be analyzed without extensive tests normally…

But this wasn’t the only status screen I actually have…

‘Status’

I gave another mental command of the same word without dismissing the transparent screen in front of me, and just like the first, a golden wave of light coalesced in front of me showing another status screen…

                           Mental status: Slight weariness

                           Internal energy: Willpower

                           Strength: 12

                           Speed: 15

                           Flexibility: 13

Just as you can see, even though I’m healthy and energetic, I still feel a bit of weariness deep within, I feel like something within me was hit hard and only now did it begin to heal.

Looking at my two statuses, I could voice in my head a question to Astral, “I almost can’t believe what I’m seeing, why have two of something when only one can suffice.”

“Well it’s not exactly the same thing and since this how it is for everyone else, you can only choose which to use when you do.”

I noticed this double privilege when Adam had mentioned it to us, when I watched Adam waving his hand and shouting ‘status’ like a fool, I decided to do the same and then I saw a screen of light exactly like what I had seen, form in front of me.

Adam explained it to be a guide to your path that allowed someone to be aware, that was a good thing and all but I already had one, so why did I have to get another.

It wasn’t all the same though, some things I noticed were different, I saw a Class attribute on the first screen that wasn’t on the other while I saw a physical and mental status that wasn’t on the first as well, it was a handful for me honestly, but one was from the essence within me while the other was gotten from after the whole origin pillar incident.

These things as well as other things had changed as well. The class I got was order of the will and it reflected on the two status screens, I noticed an internal energy resource on the second, while I noticed a rank for my class on the first.

The willpower on the second was the energy I now wielded within me, while the rank was actually the indicator of the realm of power I had reached, all these I knew courtesy of Adam and Astral, the two who I had an unclear relationship with at the moment. Honestly I’ve been growing more confused by the day with all the things happening, it always felt like I was missing something but whenever I thought deeply about it, I always ended up with nothing. In the end, I came to a conclusion on myself, I was going to just go with the flow of everything, I couldn’t keep thinking and wondering without feeling even more weary, whatever was going to happen might as well hit me with all its got, I’ll be ready to parry it with all I’ve got, which was hardly anything by the way.

A swirl of white colored light mass was as described swirling in a dark space, it looked very thick and almost viscous as a faint strand of the substance could be vaguely seen rotating in the middle of it all. The strand grew clearer and bigger as the time went by till finally what was left after long hours of spinning was a single strand of white light-like substance, it had all been concentrated and congealed into the single strand swirling in a curved path,

“Hah, you see that Astral, I figured it out!”

“The whole incident was due to the injection of a kind of instinct into you…”

“I don’t care what you’re saying, all I know is that figured it out and did it all by myself, too bad no one else is here to witness the birth of a genius hero.”

With his hand in the air, Isaac grinned cheekily as he conversed with Astral.

“The instinct to cultivate properly is imparted as a basic intuitive knowledge, you claiming it was all your doing is nothing short of shameless…”

The pride on Isaac’s face dampened a little bit before it renewed with vigor as he gave his reply, “Whatever you said is for you alone to know and care about. I don’t, and besides even if it is your so called intuitive knowledge, achieving entry level in no more than a few hours is nothing short of genius as well.”

Feeling resigned, Astral chose to ignore the words after as it seemed like no one could get him to change his mind, as stubborn as he was in the past as well, thinking to there made Astral feel relief deep in his current shapeless form.

Throughout the period he had been awake inside Isaac, he had never once been able to notice any familiar character from Isaac that indicated good news, yet finally today after so long, he was finally going back to his former self, the one that made them all admire him immensely during that time.

Then sharing Isaac’s vision, he looked at the white strand swirling within Isaac, compared to the majestic and grand spiral that was the golden spiral in the space of the origin pillar, this strand looked pitiably tiny and insignificant like a speck of dust compared to it. Yet it was from this very first strand that it also began, he believed Isaac could recreate that same marvel himself, it was all a matter of time, he was ultimately a genius talent.

In an airy forest with sunlight pouring in from everywhere giving it a different look from the jade forest, a foot came down on a dried branch on the floor, yet despite being visibly snapped, no sound whatsoever came out as it was left behind in the footsteps of the person. Though it wasn’t as odd as the person walking themselves, he was decked in black fittings visible to anyone with sight, yet it was only the sight of the man that could be sensed, it was an odd occurrence that if someone blind or blindfolded walked past him, they would register nary a presence from him, it was like he deliberately detached all other sensory cords connected to his self as he basically ghosted through the forest.

He came to a stop under a fairly tall tree, after which he turned his back and leaned on it in the most casual manner, the forest grew a tad quiet as the figure made no movements for a time, a some minutes, a strong wind blew from all directions, moving to a spot a few meters away from the figure as they congregated above the gathering spot, a tint of green could be seen amidst the winds as they swirled and blew eventually revealing another figure in the depths of the winds, the winds blew strong and thick so they obscured the view of the person within but it could faintly be seen that said figure was a woman’s as her figure finally settled into a semi solid figure, after which a voice that sounded as gentle and soft as the moving clouds in the sky came out from it,

“What an ill-opportuned time you chose to call…”

The voice as sweet and soft as it was carried a hint of displeasure in it as it voiced its thoughts, but Adam  looked unfazed and unbothered by it as he responded with a faint smile,

“It’s nice to see you too after a time as long as this”

A faint snort was heard from the woman before she spoke again,

“Why had you been blocking off all my reaching attempts all this while since you came…”

“It wasn’t appropriate”, Adam  replied with no pause between his replies after which a strange silence settled in when the female figure ceased to speak. It continued on till she finally spoke again, “He doesn’t remember yet?”

The voice contained a fair amount of puzzlement as she wondered how that was possible at this point,

“Yes…” Adam  replied again and he continued, “His awakening and all was strangely longer than the rest of us and he still doesn’t remember, odd as it is, there’s nothing I can do when he appears as healthy and untouched as he does, I want to assume its nothing big anyways, he’s here and with us, that should be the best gift to us…”

“Mnn”, the woman agreed with his last words as she spoke again, “So what’s going to happen  now…”

To which Adam  replied with a smile, “Well I decided we should regroup with you as quickly as possible before anything else, nothing should go wrong should he lay his eyes on you himself and not be forced to remember you. You want that don’t you…”

The female’s voice broke for a second before her composed voice quickly rang in his, “I do want to see him as well, it sounds both good and bad hearing he doesn’t remember, as much as I don’t want to cause him pain as he waits to see me, I also can’t help but fear that things would go bad when we finally do since he won’t remember me at all…”

Adam  smiled at the nervousness the voice displayed despite the obvious realm of power she seemed to have reached, he felt a faint pressure just from the clone image she sent his way so he couldn’t help but wonder how strong she really was...

“So what do you think Ayo, what are you planning…”

She finally spoke up again as they conversed for a fairly good while till they all meet again.
