A seemingly thick wave of energy that seemed oddly familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time rushed into my body mysteriously like I was receiving a blessing or something.
To be honest, the current situation is somewhat like a blessing if you choose to look at it from a different angle. It made me feel slightly light headed and euphoric at the same time. The euphoria I felt was probably something I was feeling due to the fact that I knew I was getting stronger. This was a habit that many would call manic in nature, but there was no one who would ever deny the feeling since it meant growing stronger; they just kept their feelings much more hidden.
Naturally I didn’t groan in pleasure or yell to the skies whenever it happened like a real manic so I could still be considered to be safe. I forced myself to look at the other two besides me that was present in this mountain on the fifth floor of it, and I could see Harry seemingly in the same state as I was as his eyes were already closed and he almost seemed to be asleep. And when I turned my sights to Hiya, she seemed completely okay like nothing was happening, she took a glance in my direction before looking away turning back at the blood red colored screen still in front of her.
I figured this was normal since she didn’t have a class after all. She was on the path of those seeking no worldly interference with their systems, a kind of archaic thought, from ages before the emergence of things like tainted beasts, tainted mountains and origin pillars. Naturally from what I heard from comments made by Harry and Adam, these sorts of people weren’t exactly accepting of others not seeing their ways, they were of a much smaller number these days, almost said to be extinct even, so there wasn’t much conflict and they were not easy to come in contact with. She being the same was somewhat of a surprise and all, but I didn’t think much of it and I had no time to think of anything anymore right now. I closed my eyes and immersed myself in the feeling of advancement in my body.
While Isaac and Harry had closed their eyes as they were immersed in experiencing the sensation of growing stronger, Hiya kept her gaze focused on the blood red screen in front of her as she pondered something.
The screen of light in front of her had the same information on it as it did on the other two’s. But that was only for the first part as there was a clear difference that was very much noticeable. While it displayed the objectives cleared and a short message, it was devoid of the message which stated she had been granted a title unlike that of Harry and Isaac. The amount of curse energy gained from each floor and the mountain king, and even the total curse energy as well was similarly not present.
She hadn’t seen what was on the screen shown to the other two besides her, but she could tell that there was a fair difference herself without even checking. She had nothing to say to that since she understood why.
Right now, what she had her focus on instead was the indistinct message in her mind’s consciousness. It was a very peculiar occurrence to her that she felt. But she knew what it was from experiencing it herself. It was the so called whispers of the world, the thing that every person with a class encounters when they kill a beast and get ready to absorb its curse energy.
From the explanation, it was obvious that it was an even more peculiar occurrence when the whispers of the world resounded in her head. She wasn’t one with a class so it should be somewhat impossible for her to be able to hear it. But she actually could, in fact every single fighter, irrespective of whether they have a class or not, that has even just the slightest bit of strength could hear it. Hence, even she could hear it clearly. But judging by her choice of not getting a class, she was among those who chose to ignore the whispers of the world.
These set of people are in a way seen to be exceedingly blasphemous by others as they refuse to accept the authenticity of these strange happenings that were not of the norm which could be said by many to be ridiculous. The story of how they came to be segregated from normal people, those who chose to believe and accept, dated a long time back and was one not many bothered to listen to anymore during these present days.
But things were different for Hiya anyways. After all, although anyone who knew she have a class would see her as one of those kind of people, she wasn’t actually like them. For one thing, she had never disregarded the whispers of the world, not ever has she done it. And this time was no different for her as she agreed to the question asked by the whisper.
A second after her concurring, a spherical little globe that was about the size of four fists put together appeared abruptly in front of her. It was a strange sight as although it looked to hold nothing within and seemed to only be a normal spherical ball, it shone with a radiance that shifted and twisted with an odd light, this display was able to show the outline of mysterious lines of energy that twisted and stirred around in the ball.
This showed that there a sort of transparent energy present within the ball, one that seemed sort of familiar if scrutinized by accomplished fighters.
This was what she got after giving a yes as an answer to the whisper. It appeared abruptly as it suspended itself in midair without dropping. And Hiya without any hesitation surprise or pause reached out her hand and grabbed the mysterious looking ball. She studied it a bit before flicking her wrist slightly as the ball now in her hand disappeared into her spatial ring.
After keeping it in her spatial ring, she raised her head as she looked at Isaac who stood without moving, the aura he emanated growing stronger by the stronger. His closed eyes suggested his complete immersiveness into observing the workings of his body. Harry also had the same expression as the two of them were covered in the respective energies they wielded. The former being covered in a misty white aura while the latter was giving off an increasingly brighter red glow.
She stared at the two for a while before she blinked her beautiful purple eyes and spoke softly, “Looks like the end of this tainted mountain episode is here.”
