Episode 102.

The group of three were standing in the fifth floor as Harry gradually cleared his head and regained his proper thinking ability. Looking at the wolf’s head and its headless body some distance from it, he couldn’t help but sigh as he spoke,

“I ended up beaten so much by you, count yourself very lucky, if you still can, that I couldn’t be the one to take you down…”

He had been taking all the attacks the wolf had thrown at him without shirking back, but that didn’t mean it did nothing to him… instead it hurt like hell! Even right now, he still felt out of sorts. But that could only be taken care of slowly. So after he took out a tiny spherical object, that was commonly known to be a healing pill, from the ring on his finger, he left it to work within his body as quickly as it could while he strode forward to the others as he had been hit to the ground over a distance of dozens of meters.

He strode quickly to their side and right as Isaac was about to say something, a familiar yet peculiar occurred at that moment, stopping all words from being exchanged.

3rd Objective- Eliminate the mountain king

I had actually almost forgotten about this screen of light that had popped up a number of times while we were clearing the mountain trial. It always brought information of sorts to tell every time it appeared, and this time was no different.

It started with the trials we cleared and I noticed that it didn’t show the fourth objective that it showed the previous times. It was the optional trial objective that said to destroy the mountain itself. Maybe that’s why the screen hadn’t popped up sooner since we killed the beast, it was probably waiting to confirm our intentions. And I don’t know whether Harry or Hiya had the thought in my mind once, but I know that I most definitely didn’t have the thought of destroying the mountain crossing my mind at any point. Destroy the mountain, are you kidding me?! That wasn’t something we could accomplish when we barely took on the wolf king itself.

I glanced at my two fellow challengers to see if they had the same thoughts as I had, but I couldn’t ask them now as I noticed a part on the blood red screen that really interested me.

It was the list of things that had something to do with curse energy. It turned out to be like what Adam said. He had said that after clearing a mountain, the curse energy from all the tainted beasts that had been killed would be gathered till they cleared the mountain. It was only until they cleared the mountain that they would be able to get the curse energy. At that point, it wasn’t exactly curse energy anymore, instead the generations of fighters had come to a conclusion that although it was somewhat like curse energy, it was still fundamentally different. The reason being the fact that it was only with this particular energy gained from fully clearing and successfully challenging a tainted mountain would one be able to advance in tiers.

It was the reason Adam had suggested clearing a mountain in the first place. It wasn’t that only by doing things this way and successfully clearing a mountain would one be able to advance, but that it was only by doing it this way would one be able to rise quickly enough through the chasm separating the different tiers.

If one tried to accumulate energy and cultivate their class normally without challenging a mountain, then the resulting speed would be frustratingly slow. One could only suspect if this was a plan to force everyone into forcefully challenging a mountain every time they could. But no one was there for them to ask to confirm their suspicions anyways.

It was only by clearing a mountain would one be able to receive this peculiar type of energy. it was the quickest way to get stronger and many were not going to give up on it.

I felt somewhat excited since I would finally be able to head into the next tier. It had surprised him at first when he killed the beasts on the first floor and hadn’t been able to get anything in return. it was when he remembered what Adam had said, that he was then able to continue to the fifth floor without complaints
