Episode 111.

“What is it?”

Isaac asked as he looked from Harry to Hiya. When he opened his eyes just now and was able to focus, what came into his eyes first were his two teammates staring at him like one would stare at a foreign species.

“What happened to you?, is there something wrong with you?”, Harry asked with a bewildered expression on his face.

Realization finally set in within Isaac as he realized he had probably passed out or something to the two of them, so he voiced his thoughts as answers.

“Well I don’t really know, I just happened to close my eyes and fell asleep.”

Harry widened his eyes at the answer and when the next words that came out of his mouth were spoken, Isaac could feel something wrong about the situation.

“Do you happen to always catch on fire whenever you sleep?, how come we never saw that happen to you before.”

Isaac wrinkled his brows as he replied with a question as well, “What do you mean catch on fire, do you see me burning” he checked himself, his fighter gear and his body underneath it, and ascertained they were completely fine before he continued speaking, “Do I look like I was on fire to you, what are you even saying…”

Following those words, none of them said anything as they stared quietly at each other. It was only until when Isaac spoke again did the increasingly awkward silence disperse, “I can’t explain exactly what happened to me but I think there’s wrong with me other passing out.”

He then said, “How long was I passed out for?”

Harry kept quiet as he said nothing so Hiya was the one to speak up although even she had a peculiar glint in her eyes as she stared at Isaac. “You ‘passed out’ for about half a day…”

There wasn’t any probable way of accurately guessing time since they were technically and literally inside a mountain, so they could only guess at the time by consciously comparing how the time flowed here to the outside world. But for her to say that he had passed for about half a day meant it was a pretty long time.

Isaac’s eyes widened at the thought as he stared at Hiya. She couldn’t be lying as she no reason to anyways so he if he really slept for about half a day then things were really weird enough to guarantee them looking at him in the way they were.

But before he could say anything else, Harry cut his words short as he spoke again. he spoke this time as he pointed to the ground below where Isaac sat.

“If you claim you weren’t on fire and think I’m crazy then how do you explain the darkened floor, hm?”

Isaac gave him an odd look but still shifted his head to look at the ground he was sitting on and his eyebrows immediately jumped as his expression changed and he stood up slowly. ‘Why is the floor darker than I remember?’

The floor beneath him in an odd circumference was actually of a much darker shade than the rest. This was the sight he saw when he looked downwards. It was all too surprising as he didn’t remember anything like when he first stood there. He was sure of that even though he wouldn’t have paid much attention to the floor in the first place.

He bent down as he stretched his hands to the ground to feel the ground. When his hands came in contact with the ground beneath them, he couldn’t help but flinch as his hands were quickly withdrawn. He widened his eyes even further as he realized that the solid ground was actually extremely hot, it was so hot it was scalding even. He didn’t feel as much pain as expected from touching so hot but he had no time to think of that as he still felt so shocked about what was happening. Or what had already happened.

“Why is the ground so hot?!’

That was the current question on his mind as his felt the same bewilderment that Harry had felt creeping into his mind. It was as he was trying to figure out what was happening that a certain scent entered his nostrils.  it was the scent of something that had been burnt to pretty much nothing but dust and ashes. And it was the smell that the ground beneath his feet was currently giving off.

The awkward silence that had already disappeared returned once again as he paused in his position of staring down at the ground.

A while had passed before Isaac raised his head back up. As he rose up to his normal heights, he eyes met Harry’s who had suddenly turned to a crazy detective as he stared at Isaac unblinkingly.

Isaac would have chuckled at his comical attitude and display at the moment but he simply couldn’t as he felt pretty awkward right now. There were hardly words he could say at the current moment. Hence he decided to come off cleanly.

“Well… the thing I really don’t know how this happened. I fell asleep and had a dream instead. In the dream, I dreamt about a sun but it’s really complicated to explain so I don’t exactly know what to say…”

After he finished saying those words, he looked at his two teammates who could stare at him silently. Hiya had a calm and unruffled expression on as she always had like she was on a bystander and nothing else, while Harry could only stare with increasing confusion, a headache had begun to assail him as his thoughts on the current happenings grew deeper, prompting him to give up as he knew he couldn’t think this true. He gave Isaac another look as he said,

“You dreamt about a sun…”

Isaac nodded his head as he decided to go with that no matter they believed him or not. Ignoring Harry’s change in attitude as he stared Isaac down, he knew that he could only Adam now. He was probably the only one who might know.

Hence after the thought crossed his mind, he looked at Harry again as he spoke, “Let’s forget about that first and head out, the mountain’s been cleared so there’s no need to stay any longer, is there?”

Hiya said nothing to that but she seemed to be all for it, a girl like her was probably already putting up with a lot by having to travel with three of the opposite s*x as the only girl.

Harry was the only one left to talk and as Isaac awaited his answer, the bewildered look in his disappeared as he spoke.

“Meh whatever, there’s no thinking so much anyways…”

Isaac was taken aback for a moment before he spoke up again, “O-k then… let’s head out I guess.”
