Roller-coaster.

Eve left after finishing off her meal, as her emotions were overwhelming for her. She wanted both to cry and to laugh at her fate. She had a feeling that things will change soon for her in a fortunate as well as in horrible ways.

Evan and Flora were staring at each other after Eve’s comment.

Flora was glad that at least Evan made her granddaughter gleam a little. While Evan was lost and thinking, “ Is she talking about counting..? What else I can do than to comfort her. I thought she needs space. May now she thinks that I am a clown.”

“Why did she say what she said Evan..?” Flora somehow can guess that Evan has a hint of Eves special condition, She didn’t want to jump on any conclusion so she chooses to play smart rather than dumb.

“ hahhhhhhh…! Oh, that?” His heart was thumping hard in his chest he was not sure whether to tell flora or not, he always feels nervous whenever flora started to interrogate him. He took a step forward in gaining Flora's trust. “ I...I was counting numbers so that she didn’t know what exactly I was thinking, I didn’t mean to upset her grandma. I am sorry.”

He was afraid that he might annoy Flora, as Flora and Eve were close to each other, by his surprise flora reacted contrary to what he expected.

She flashed an understanding smile towards him “ Protect this secret for lifetime…. I can’t risk losing my granddaughter because of it.”

Evan nodded in agreement feeling proud that he is officially part of this family. “ I promise Grandma, I promise”.

“ I pledge to protect Eve and her secret with my life.” Evan thinks to himself, he gets connected to them only in a few hours. As if he knew them since his childhood. For the first time, he understood the meaning of true family.

“Good night Son, we need lots of things to catch up tomorrow.” Flora left with the dining room feeling relieved that even now if she dies, her Eve has someone how understands her suffering and situation, but still, she needs to know everything about Evan and to tell him everything about her family.

She admitted one thing to her self, that she didn’t even trust her own son John with her family matters and secrets especially related to Eve, on the other hand, She's ready to believe and give the responsibility of Eve to Evan.

She doesn’t know exactly how Evan feels for her granddaughter, but she felt like he is the man of his words. He will prove to be a good friend to Eve.

Evan was feeling privileged to be with them, He still remembers when he was only 5 and was in an orphanage, He prayed day and night for ages to find a family, Now really he has it, but it looks like a beautiful dream to him. He did not know that a job would give him so much.

In her, room Eve was sitting near her window, she thought that how her life becomes a roller coaster ride, She faced several up and downs in one day. She saw hope for friends and a better future as well as lose hope to reunite with her uncle John. She also thanked the strange to make her realize that she's the key of her own happiness.

One thing she knew that her grams is with her and now she can also see Evan as her friend even her grams also adore him. He was comfortable with the fact that she’s different, from him and others, still putting on his best to cope with her.

She loved the way he handled everything today although it was quite annoying to listen to an 18-year-old young man counting numbers, it’s funny too.

Overall everything is better here than Dallas, except that her faith in her uncle failed and it is more than an additional good thing, Uncle John resemblance with her father Denzil is something which is holding her from getting detached from him. She can’t accomplish her dream of having a peaceful perfect family again if her uncle is not willing to give her a chance. She can’t change his perception as if it’s his way to deal with the loss. But he forgot that she lost her lovely parents to that was on to her birthday what should be worst than that.

Eve’s mind was a hot mess as everything is happening with a speed of light today. She was living each moment whether painful or happy over and over again, she wants to give up on John but she decides not to rest she will leave on John and her dearest God.

Eve dozed of hugging her bunny close to her.

Flora was worried for her, Little angel, she was not sure how she’s taking everything, as she knew the main reason to move here is to get back on the good side of John. But as per her John seems more distant than every, she doesn’t even know this version of John can exist who only think about his sentiments. And the terrible thing is that Jessica is also suffering because If her cold-hearted son who once used to be gentle.

She walked over to eves room to check on her, she was pleased to saw her fall asleep but also upset to see a frown as if she’s restless even while sleeping.

Flora kissed Eve forehead making her relax a bit, she covered her in duvets, switched off the lights. And left for her room to get some rest after having such a troublesome day.

Evan was resting on his bed thinking of everything that happens to him within a day, his life completely drifts from sad loner to part of a complicated but friendly family.

He has never felt as alive as today, he was planning his next step to break the ice with Eveleen and Flora. On the very first day, they trusted him but still, he has a lot of things to share with them, though he was not confident about how they will react to his truth or whether they will continue to accept him as he was or not?

He was ready to catch up with his has when he received a call from a private number. And he received it with hesitation before he can acknowledge to the caller.

The caller said in a low deadly voice.

“ I’ve not sent you there to cook, clean or sleep. Make your self useful and let me know if you find out anything unusual. Is that clear Evan.”

Evan was a bit scared, one side he gets to know two amazing people which he can call his family, on the other hand, this person is making his life complicated again, but what else option did he have??

He needs to do it what he asked to, for the important piece of information which matters a lot or him and yes also for studies or someone else will replace him here which he can’t afford.

By working her on the command of that person, he can hit two targets with one stone, that is searching for secret and keeping secret protected. After all, he can’t lose his job as well as newly found family.

“Yes Sir” finally Evan answer back to the caller.

“Did I have to ask every time to keep me updated…..?” the caller asked annoyed, as he does have the patience to wait anymore for executing his plans but for that, he needs information which Evan can give him.

“No Sir, Nothing unusual, She seems upset today that’s all, I didn’t find anything in her room.” Evan said in his calm voice trying to hide the fact that he knew more than one can think but he will not going to anyone harm Eveleen because of it.

“Is that so, hmmm…. Fine keep a close eye on her.” The caller said finally slightly relaxed. He was tapping his fingertips on the whiskey glass before gulping it at once.

The caller disconnects the call, making Evan sigh of relief, “ Why he’s doing that?? How can a teenage girl be a threat to him??” He thinks to himself, as far as he gets to know Flora and Eveleen they both seem thoughtful and kind to him.
