CHAPTER 1
The faint rays of the sun shimmered while the tiny raindrops seemed to sympathize with the funeral of Don Miguel Arsheido, a Mafia Boss. Many attended the funeral, resulting in a multitude of luxury cars parked both inside and outside the private cemetery. After the funeral, people began to leave one by one. However, a twelve-year-old boy remained standing, gazing at his father's gravesite. "Young Master, we should return to the mansion," his butler politely said while shielding the boy from the rain with an umbrella. The boy remained silent, prompting a resigned sigh from his butler, who could do nothing but stay by the young master's side and continue to shield him from the rain. Other servants stood nearby, holding their umbrellas, watching the young master who showed no emotion while staring at his father's grave. Silence prevailed, with only the sound of raindrops heard. But the tranquil cemetery suddenly became noisy due to the loud crying of a baby. The young master's attention was drawn to the baby's crying nearby. The young boy immediately stepped forward, followed by his butler and some other servants, to where the crying was coming from. Under a small mango tree, a baby wrapped in white cloth was crying and moving its small hands, which were covered with white gloves. The young boy stopped upon seeing the baby. "Poor baby. It seems like it was abandoned by whoever gave birth to it," remarked the butler, shaking his head. However, he was stunned when he saw what the young master did next. The young boy knelt down and, without hesitation, lifted the crying baby. Carefully, he rocked it back and forth as if cradling it to soothe its crying. "Young Master, you might get dirty!" the butler exclaimed in surprise. He quickly signaled a servant to take the baby, but the young boy spoke up. "Let's go home, call Dr. Aleyano, and have him come to the mansion immediately!" the young boy ordered authoritatively. "B-But—" "Don't argue with my orders. Now that Dad is gone, you should follow me!" The butler had no choice but to nod and promptly call the doctor. Another servant swiftly opened the Limousine's door. The young boy entered, still carrying the crying baby. As the car drove off, the young boy stared at the baby, which continued to cry as if hungry. "It's okay, just cry, my princess. I assure you; this will be your first and last cry in my arms," the young boy spoke softly to the baby, which continued to cry. The butler could only stare in astonishment as he witnessed the broad smile on the young master's face as he gazed at the baby. In the many years he had worked as a butler, it was the first time he had seen the young master smile—a sight both surprising and unbelievable.
