I got to the gym just in time. My tiny warriors were just getting there. I got them started on their stretching as I checked the equipment and made sure everything was set up for the day. I had my back to the door when I caught a faint scent of rum.
I turned around and, sure enough, Maverick was standing in the doorway watching me. I smiled at him, “Hi, what are you doing here?”
"I can't wait until tomorrow night to see you." He got closer to me and whispered so the kids couldn't hear him. "You know, I agreed to stay here for awhile with the intention of getting to know you better, but I haven't seen you since our first date."
He brushed his finger tips on my forearm, "Do you think you could take the day off to spend it with me?"
