* Diana woke up to the sound of birds singing outside her window. She stretched her arms and sat up in bed, feeling the soft sheets against her skin. She got up and walked to the window, opening it to let in the fresh morning air. The sun was shining down on the walls of the palace, making the marble gleam and sparkle. The lush green gardens, with well-manicured lawns, and a variety of flowers and shrubs all looked absolutely splendid as she stared at them, and some tiny part of her rage dissipated just a little bit. As she looked further, she could see the city of Avarel beyond the palace gates. The city was bustling with activity, as people went about their day.
