Giselle I stand with Fiona, Jules, and Amara, watching the blue flames burn inside the Tueur Clan’s Hunter chalice. All hunter-families hold a ceremonial fire for those they’ve lost. Our ceremonial room is a small temple with white walls, a white marble floor, and a large cement chalice holding the Hunters flame in the center. Standing guard on each wall are statues of my mother, my father, Exia’s former mate, Draven, and several other Tueur hunters. Jules hands each of us a flaming rose and moves toward the fire. We dressed in our hunter gear for the occasion as a sign of respect. Fiona and I remove our knives while Amara holds a photo of Haley in hers.
