Kassian, hidden behind the trees in the garden, stared at the bedroom window. They had arrived there a few minutes earlier, after a long tedious walk in the mountains and his friend, refusing to play it safe, had preferred to strike at night, in full possession of his means. Just like his target, unfortunately. The anxiety of knowing he was in danger twisted his guts and he looked at his watch so often that the hands began to play tricks on him. How long had he been waiting? Suddenly he looked up. Even though his senses were those of a standard human, the teenager heard suspicious noises, an obvious sign of a fight. Then there was a period of calm, and then he saw two shadows behind the moonlit curtain. One of them, haloed with a powerful aura, could only be the Venerable One they pursued
