THE BAD BOY’S FIRST KISS   CHAPTER 11   MATTHEW’S POV   “BABE, aren’t you going to help me? They’re bullying your girlfriend,” I heard Calisha say, but I did not pay much attention to her. My eyes were fixated on the girl whom Hunter said she’s his friend. Above all, I was looking at that girl thoroughly.   What’s her name again? Devvy? Right. It’s Devvy.   Why do I see my first kiss in her? Well, based on the few details that I could recall, they have similarities. However, I couldn’t make sure of it. I might be wrong, but I keep seeing my first kiss in this girl named Devvy ever since we met. I haven’t noticed Devvy before, even when we are just in the same school, but now, it seems like I’m stuck with her.   I admit it. Devvy is simply beautiful, but I feel like she doesn’t know it. It seems like she doesn’t really mind if she’s beautiful or not. One could not notice her beauty quickly, but if you look at her carefully, that’s the time you would see that she has the beauty. She also looks kind. If I were to base the accusations thrown over her, it would be believed that she hadn’t done wrong. And it was right. It has just been proven just now that she’s innocent and fell as the victim of Calisha and Lyka’s scheme.   Calisha and Devvy have the same size of the body. No wonder Devvy’s figure could easily be Calisha on the video because their sizes are look-alike. They just differ in the face, movement, attitude, and I don’t know much about the others. I don’t know them well yet.   “Babe!” I came back to the current state when Calisha’s voice suddenly rose. “I kept talking to you, but it seems like you were not even listening to me!” She looked at where I was looking lately. Then a mocking smirk formed on her face. “Don’t tell me you’re taking side with that girl!”   “I didn’t say I’m taking—”   “Then why were you looking in her direction? You were staring at her that much,” she cut me off.   I parted him from clinging on to me. I don’t like the attention we're getting at the moment. It’s an embarrassment as she was the one who stole her own diary and the one who cheated. Not that Devvy girl whom she accused.   “Enough, Calisha!” I told her. “You deserve that! Hunter stopped you before, but you didn’t listen to him. You just taste your own medicine.” After I said that, I walked out, leaving her there getting dislike from the students from different sections.   A few hours later, my friends and I went out from the campus to have lunch in the nearest restaurant in school.   “You’re interested in her,” I suddenly hear Hunter speak in the silence.   I looked at him and then at Troy to know who he was referring to. Hunter is looking at me, not at Troy, so I pointed myself. “Me?” I inquired to make sure.   He nodded.   “With whom?” I asked again.   “With Devvy,” he answered.   I was quiet for a few seconds.   "How are you related to her? Looks like you care for her. I didn't see you like that before." It was Troy who spoke.   Hunter rubbed the back of his head. “Well, I care for her because she’s the daughter of my mom’s friend. Our parents are friends. Devvy is good. I should be on her side no matter what happens. It’s not obvious, but I care for her. No one could even notice it. She’s like a sister to me. She doesn’t even know it.”   "Didn't see you talk with her before. The first time I saw you talked with her was when you gave her the key. Next was just a while ago.” It was Troy who said that again. I could say in my mind that this was a miracle. Troy suddenly became bubbly.   “I was shy to approach her before. I feel like she doesn’t like me because I’m a playboy. And I don’t want the others to think that she’s one of my girls,” Hunter said.   “But now, you’re approaching her,” I suddenly butted in.   "I realize it's okay to talk with her so long as I know I don't have bad intentions toward her. I will not let others hurt her, anyway." That was sweet of him. He was like not the Hunter we knew. "By the way, answer me, Matt. You acted strangely a while ago. You're interested in her, aren't you?"   I uttered a soft sigh. “To be honest, I suddenly see that girl in her.” "That girl" means my first kiss, and “her” means Devvy. “Remember what I told you before?”   “She was that girl?” Hunter seemed surprised.   I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know. I’m not sure, but I feel that it was her after what happened last time.” I told them the whole story from Devvy bumping into me until we met and talked in the seashore.   “What will you do now?” Hunter asked. “She’s not the same girl as your girls.”   Our orders arrived, so I chose not to speak. Good thing they didn’t ask anymore.   ***   DEVVY’S POV   “THANK you, Gab and Shaine. If you didn’t show the video to Mrs. Suarez, I don’t know what would happen to me anymore. Sir Nguyen will surely call my parents,” I said to Gab and Shaine when they passed by our table in the school cafeteria.   “It’s nothing, Dev. If there’s someone you should thank, it’s Hunter.” Shaine showed her smile.   “Is there something between you and him?” Gab asked in a low voice.   “H-huh?” I didn’t expect that. I mean, what’s “something between us?”   Shaine nudged Gab in the arm. “Don’t mind him, Dev,” Shaine said.   I just smiled so that we could not further the conversation. Gab and Shiane then bid their goodbye. When they had gone away already, my friends talked with me.   “Hear that? I think not only them who think there’s something between you and Hunter,” Mikayla uttered.   “He’s just helping me because we know each other. I mean, our moms are friends for a long time. Our dads became friends as well. They also live near us. And I don’t have a crush on him,” I explained.   “That’s clear, but do you think he likes you?” Yannie asked.   “Hey! That’s not possible,” I promptly reacted.
