As the dawn’s light filtered through the trees, the Pack’s Elite Warriors assembled, their movements crisp and purposeful under Matthew’s scrutinizing gaze. The morning sun cast a golden hue upon the clearing as they began their rigorous combat training. Lila and Eliza stood side by side, ready to test Lila’s burgeoning abilities.
“So, Luna, today’s the day I get to see what my father coveted for so long,” William said, intrigued. “Don’t hold back. I want to see what you can do.”
Thomas’s focus wavered, his gaze flitting toward Eliza, then away, betraying his uncertainty in her presence. She seems indifferent, doesn’t she, Night? Thomas mused, his thoughts echoing with uncertainty.
Mate is not indifferent. Can’t you feel her pain? Night’s voice held an edge, his tolerance for Thomas wearing thin.
You have to get over it, buddy. It is not going to happen. You have to get your head into the game and see what Lila has learned.
When Matthew cleared his throat to catch Thomas’ attention, the former Gamma finally chimed in. “Yeah, show us what you’ve got, Luna. I’ll try to keep up,” Thomas said, his tone light but his stance alert and ready.
A look of pride and wonderment flickered across Gabriel’s face as he watched Lila, a grin breaking through, “Don’t worry, guys. I’m sure Lila can handle herself and both of you.”
“I’m ready. Let’s do this,” Lila declared, her voice steady and her eyes shimmering with the dance of excitement and a hint of nerves.
“Remember, Lila, your powers are a gift, and there’s nothing to fear. Embrace them, and they’ll serve you well.” Eliza’s voice was a gentle cascade of encouragement, her words wrapping around Lila like a comforting shawl.
She stepped back to set up for her training session with Lila. But also to put some distance between her and Thomas.
The question gnawed at her: Why won’t he even glance my way? Does the silence he left in his wake mean nothing to him?
The training session kicked off with a symphony of stretches and the rhythmic pounding of feet against the earth. Once everyone was back, Matthew paired the Elite warriors while Lila and Eliza did some magical training on the side.
Lila, the Luna of the Moondance Pack, was born from a forbidden union of a pure-blood Alpha-descent werewolf and the Vampire King. Her birth occurred during a Blue Moon, and she was granted extraordinary abilities. The prophecy about her warned of dire consequences for those who sought to exploit her -their sanity would slip into madness. The prophecy also declared that her powers would awaken only through a profound and supernatural bond with her mate.
In the months leading up to the war against the Master, his rogues, and rabid vampires, Lila manifested some of her prophesied powers. She uncovered the gift of premonition, which provided her with visions of the future that helped the
Moondance Pack in the war.
Lila delved deeper into her supernatural abilities and unlocked the power to manipulate the wind. With a mere thought, she summoned gusts and breezes and even created a mighty windstorm, harnessing the air itself to her will. This newfound control over the wind proved invaluable with the Master, his rogues, and his rabid vampires.
The White Witch Eliza of the Solaris coven was now a friend of the Moondance Pack, although she had initially been a foe. Alpha Victor of the Blood Moon Pack forced her to keep Lila prisoner within his pack lands. When Lila eventually escaped, Eliza asked her coven for help to redeem herself, and they discovered Lila’s secret and vowed to keep her safe.
The other witches had gone back to their coven in Western Canada. Only Eliza remained with the Moondance Pack. Lila sought the teaching from the White Witch, Eliza, to harness and control these burgeoning abilities further. Through their work together, they grew closer, embarking on a journey of training and self-discovery.
Eliza’s silver hair cascaded down her shoulders. She extended her hand towards the ground, summoning a cluster of soil to hover before Lila. “Remember, Lila, your connection with the earth is as essential as the air you breathe. Feel its energy, its strength, and allow it to flow through you,” she advised, her voice carrying a soothing melody.
Her eyes reflecting determination, Lila reached out tentatively, her fingertips grazing the hovering soil. At first, there was resistance, a hesitant dance between her and the earth’s essence. But as Eliza’s presence provided reassurance, Lila’s touch grew bolder, and a tremor rippled through the ground beneath them.
A radiant smile graced Eliza’s face. “Well done, Lila. You’re harnessing the earth’s power. Now, let’s take it further. Picture a sapling, delicate and eager to grow, and with your will, let the earth nurture it.”
Lila closed her eyes, her mind becoming a canvas for vivid images. She visualized a tiny sapling sprouting from the ground, its emerald leaves unfurling toward the sun. Drawing from the depths of her being, she willed the earth to respond, to embrace the seed of life.
As her intentions merged with the earth’s energy, mounds of rich soil erupted from the ground, encircling the imagined sapling. The earth cradled it, imbuing the fragile plant with strength and vitality.
Eliza’s voice, filled with pride, resonated through the forest. “Lila, you’ve done it! Look at what you’ve created—a testament to your power and the harmony between you and the earth. Never forget this moment, for it will guide your journey.”
Lila opened her eyes, a mixture of awe and gratitude radiating from her gaze. “Thank you, Eliza. I never thought I could wield such power. With your guidance, I’m discovering the limitless depths of my abilities. Hopefully, this will come in handy to protect our pack.”
Eventually, Matthew approached Eliza and Lila. “Now that you’ve focused on your magical abilities, how about a friendly sparring match, Lila? See if you can hold your own against Thomas.”
Lila’s curiosity about her powers burned brighter, and her determination to master them grew stronger.
Lila was getting ready to fight Thomas in hand-to-hand combat while the pack watched. The Elite Warriors were excited and curious to observe their pack mates’ friendly clash.
Knowing the duel’s significance, Matthew stood as the referee, commanding respect from all. “Alright, let’s make this a clean and fair match,” he declared, his voice steady and firm. Then he winked at Lila, silently permitting her to go all out
against Thomas.
Ever the agile and skilled warrior, Thomas flashed a confident grin at Lila. “Don’t hold back now,” he teased, “I don’t want to embarrass you too much.”
Lila smirked, determination gleaming in her eyes. “We’ll see about that,” she replied playfully as a fire ignited within her.
The pack members circled the duo, placing bets and wagers on who would emerge victorious. William couldn’t hide his curiosity. Maybe he would eventually understand why his father had coveted Lila so much for so long.
Matthew noticed William’s interest. “Lila is special, William. You’ll see how much she’s grown into her powers.” He said, his voice tinged with fondness. He was proud to train her and have her as the Luna of their pack. “She possesses a rare combination of talent, resilience, and a heart that guides her actions. Her powers are impressive, but her character truly sets her apart.”
“Her control of the elements is growing,” Eliza remarked.
Matthew placed a hand on William’s shoulder. “Lila’s journey has been a difficult one, you know. She’s faced these challenges with courage and determination. That’s what makes her truly remarkable.”
Meanwhile, the duel between Lila and Thomas was in full swing. Their movements were fluid and precise, each displaying unique strengths and strategies. Lila’s agility surprised Thomas, and he struggled to anticipate her unpredictable attacks.
Lila found herself impressed by Thomas’s skill and speed.
“Is this the best you can do, Thomas? Did they soften you in the Blood Moon Pack?” She taunted him.
This captured William’s interest. He looked warily at Gabriel, seeking his unspoken approval to join Thomas in the ring.
The pack members cheered and gasped as William joined in the fight. Lila was keeping up with both Thomas and William.
With newfound focus and a hint of mischief in her eyes, Lila unleashed a series of quick strikes, catching Thomas off guard. She landed a solid blow, sending him stumbling backward.
The pack cheered as Lila’s victory seemed imminent, but Thomas wasn’t about to concede defeat. He regained his composure and launched a fierce counterattack, pushing Lila to her limits.
Amid the duel, Lila’s powers stirred within her, responding to the intensity of the fight. The ground beneath her trembled slightly, unnoticed by everyone in the moment’s excitement.
She summoned the ground beneath her to rise and created a mound that soared ten feet into the air with the pack watching.
The pack gasped in amazement as they witnessed Lila’s power in action. Her creation was awe-inspiring, a testament to her growth as a witch. The mound stood steady, symbolizing Lila’s potential as their Luna.
However, amid the excitement, there was concern. William was nowhere to be seen. The force of Lila’s earth manipulation had propelled him away, and he had yet to return.
“Where’s William?” Thomas called out, scanning the area for any sign of him.
Eliza’s brow furrowed with worry as she approached Lila. “Lila, are you certain you didn’t accidentally harm him? This level of power can be dangerous.”
Lila’s eyes stretched wide, her pulse thundering a frantic beat, guilt and fear intertwining in her chest. She had been so focused on her success that she hadn’t noticed William’s absence. “I-I didn’t mean to hurt him,” she stammered, her voice shaky. “It just happened so quickly. My emotions and body were responding to the intensity of the fight…” she trailed off, feeling guilty.
Matthew advanced, his features stern yet softened by an undercurrent of reassurance. His expression was severe but reassuring. “Don’t blame yourself, Lila. Accidents happen, especially when dealing with such immense power. We’ll find William and make sure he’s okay.”
“He wouldn’t have gone too far,” Eliza said.
A faint cry fractured the silence, pulling everyone’s focus. They hurried towards the source, finding William crumpled on the ground, pain etching his features, but his eyes alert.
“William!” Lila’s voice broke as she knelt beside him, her hands hovering, unsure if she should touch. “This...
I didn’t...” she stammered, her words tangled with regret and fear.
William, gritting his teeth against the pain, managed a wry chuckle. “Luna, your strength... it’s impressive,” he murmured, his voice a shadow of its usual strength. Despite the pain, his strained smile sought to ease her guilt.
Eliza, her hands luminous with a soft, healing light, knelt beside him, her touch gentle but her focus intense. “You’re fortunate, William. But we need to get you proper care, now,” her voice steady yet threaded with concern.
Lila stood frozen, her gaze locked on William. The weight of her power, its potential for protection and unintended harm, settled heavily upon her. The path to mastering her abilities, once a journey of self-discovery, now felt like a tightrope walk over a chasm of doubts and fears.
