"For this family gathering, we've divided everyone into four levels based on their contributions to the family!"
"Those who contributed 10 million dollars or more, followed by 5 million dollars, then 500,000 dollars, and at the bottom are those who contributed less than 100,000 dollars or nothing at all."
John Kundera smiled smugly and added, "This year, our family did well and just reached the 10 million dollars threshold. I'm really honored to sit at this table."
"Of course, if you have enough assets, even if you haven't contributed directly, you can still sit here," he added.
Katy Kundera cut in sarcastically, "Look at your family! In such bad shape, with a convict no less. I don't think you deserve to sit at the same table as us!"
Sean Kundera, confidently raising his glass, joined the conversation, "From what I know, Nate's family not only hasn't benefited the family, but after his company went bankrupt, they borrowed over 2 million dollars from Grandpa. With such a negative contribution, it doesn't seem fair for them to sit at this table."
"I suggest we set up a small table specifically for those in debt to the family," Sean proposed, with smug satisfaction.
"Thank you for the suggestion!" Other family members voiced their agreement.
"It's decided then, we'll make adjustments according to Sean's proposal. This will encourage everyone to work harder," Kenny also nodded in approval.
"Don't stay here. Go where you belong, and don't sit with us," Kenny said sternly and gave Nate a sharp look.
Feeling helpless, Nate lowered his head and began searching for a new seat.
At that moment, Michael held Yolanda's hand and suddenly asked, "Excuse me, if someone has 10 billion dollars, where should they sit?"
As a five-star general with immense wealth, money to Michael was just a number.
His words left the room in brief silence, before the crowd erupted into laughter.
"Hahaha…" The hall nearly lost control.
"10 billion dollars? That's not a number just anyone can throw around!"
"Is this guy daydreaming?"
"Nate, Your daughter has such a rich husband!"
Under the mocking glances and sneers, Nate felt deeply embarrassed and wanted to leave immediately.
Yolanda was also overwhelmed. She scolded Michael tearfully, "Bragging at home is one thing, but saying such things here is too much. Are you trying to humiliate me?" Tears streamed down her face. Her body was trembling with anger.
Michael wanted to explain but could only respond quietly, "But I really do have 10 billion…"
However, his words were ignored.
At that moment, the guest's attention was catched by someone. Ryan's daughter and her husband Andrew had arrived.
Everyone's attention turned toward them, and even Kenny personally walked to the door to greet them.
Andrew apologized, "I'm sorry for making everyone wait so long."
"The flight was delayed by nearly 10 hours. What happened?" Kenny inquired with concern.
Andrew smiled and said, "Everyone, I don't know if you've heard, but a heavyweight figure recently arrived in S City, unexpectedly causing the airport to be closed for 8 hours."
The crowd was curious, with someone asking, "Is that true?"
Kenny was intrigued, "Who can make the airport closed for 8 hours?"
"I heard that when this heavyweight's plane landed, there were 100 fighter jets escorting it and 100,000 security personnel gathered at the airport."
"Really?" The crowd gasped.
Andrew continued proudly, "I heard this big shot is the war god of our country, the Dark Knight, commander of nine war zones. Believe it or not, I had the fortune to meet the general abroad and kept in touch. I didn't expect him to be transferred to S City now. One day, I'll invite him to meet us. If we get his help, the Kunderas' status in S City will be unmatched."
"It's wonderful to meet such a high-profile figure!"
"Andrew, you are amazing!"
"You are the Kunderas' pride!"
Everyone looked at Andrew with admiration.
Nate and his wife showed expressions of jealousy.
Although Yolanda was jealous, she had firm confidence in Michael and believed that with five years, he could become a prominent figure too.
Of course, there was one exception among the jealous crowd, Michael himself!
Michael found it amusing that this guy was so well-informed, knowing that he was coming. But his storytelling ability was even better.
Michael asked, "Do you really know General Dark Knight?"
Andrew lifted his chin and said sarcastically, "Oh, we've had drinks together. How could we not know each other?"
Michael gently replied, "Then why don't I remember you?"
Everyone present was stunned.
Andrew frowned, "Are you implying that you are General Dark Knight?"
Michael continued smiling, "Yes, I am General Dark Knight, but apparently, I've never met you."
Laughter immediately filled the room.
Andrew laughed so hard he bent over.
Even the usually serious Kenny couldn't help but laugh.
They had seen vain people before, but never someone so shameless.
To them, Michael was merely a clown.
Andrew's wife, Molly, mocked, "Yolanda, your husband is really humorous. To boost his vanity, he dares to claim he's General Dark Knight! Do you know who the Dark Knight is? He's the commander of nine war zones, capable of deciding the rise and fall of families with a single word. Yolanda, marrying such a man is truly painful!"
Others joined in the sarcasm, "Yolanda, don't you feel ashamed bringing him to this occasion? We're all embarrassed for you."
"Yes, if you don't know shame at such a family gathering, we know shame."
"Nate, your family is a disgrace. I'm disappointed in you," Kenny said, looking at Nate with disappointment.
