Chapter One: Him Again
Lilly stood outside on the balcony. The chill air of the moon crept along her arms, making the hair stand on end. Lilly closed her eyes and imagined his face. The stranger who had been haunting her dreams since childhood. Who was he? Lilly wrapped her arms around herself and shivered a bit. She was used to coolness of the moons atmosphere but tonight for some reason it felt different. The climate had been changing but Lilly’s advisors told her it was nothing to worry about. She stared at the Earth. It was close but far away and Lilly longed to be there. She often had dreams of one day visiting Earth and possibly meeting the man who had been on her mind since childhood. She had been seeing a psychic who had informed Lilly that the person in her dreams could be found on earth. Where was she to start? Lilly turned and went back inside the castle, shutting the large crystal doors behind her. Lilly’s dark skin glistened in the moonlight as she moved about the castle. The castle was large with winding staircases and huge rooms with fireplaces and thousands of books. The entire castle was made of ancient moon rocks and crystals that can only be touched by people of the moon. Lilly herself wore a long white dress with flowers embroidered along the seams and a hood on the back with more gold trim. Lilly had lived in the castle by herself for over 100 years at that point so she considered it a huge risk trying to figure out who the mysterious man was in her dreams. Lilly made her way into her room and pushed the doors open. She sauntered over to her telescope and pointed it at the earth. Lilly zoomed in through the clouds and studied a few people walking around. They all seemed normal but one person in particular caught her eye. He had strange ears but other than that a human appearance. “The ears,” Lilly whispered to herself as she looked on. The ears on this man seemed very similar to the one the mysterious man had in her dream. Lilly quickly called in her psychic advisor, Lisa, to have a look. Lisa always skeptical even of her own visions brushed it off as merely a coincidence. “It’s a coincidence to me,” she told Lilly matter of factly. Lilly felt her stomach drop but as stubborn as she is Lilly couldn’t take this as an answer. She had dreamed and searched for so long until she found a man she thought matched her dream, being told ‘no’ only gave Lilly more of an incentive to try to find him. “Well it’s too bad you think that way Lisa,” Lilly told her. “Because I’ve already got us a trip planned to Earth,” Lilly smiled.
