Episode 1 - Amoeba Dares to Cheat!
“He will pay for this!” Jaxon Everly screamed and threw the vase on the side table next to the sofa that Juniper was sitting on.
Juniper would have been startled by her brother’s outburst if she had not been so damn pissed at herself.
The audacity of Zephyr Monroe to cheat on Juniper at her own birthday party!
There are losers, and then there are losers without a single functioning brain cell in their heads. Zephyr fell into the second category to Juniper. At least he had just been in the first category earlier. But no… The i***t had to go and cheat on her and ruin her twenty-first birthday.
If Juniper hadn’t so trained to restrain herself, she would have thrown that vase herself. Even better, throw it on that single nucleoid amoeba’s head!
Not that it would do any damage since Zephyr had nothing in his head to begin with.
But for that to happen, she at least needed the single-brain cell amoeba to be present, right?
Juniper shot up from her seat and a searing pain traveled up her calf.
She still can’t believe that she cried and ran away from the amoeba when she discovered him cheating. Then her leg got twisted, as if to add salt to her wounds.
I can’t believe I fell in love with him. Juniper thought and she sat down again. Creatures like him are the type I would happily crush under my heel!
Unfortunately, it was too late for Juniper to take back the amount of time she had wasted on this loser. But she had to take care of him permanently so that this anger in her heart would go down even a little bit.
Everyone had turned their eyes to Juniper as she tried to get up. Her family was concerned about how much pain she was in. Knowing this, Juniper said, “I want to go to the Monroe Mansion.”
Juniper’s parents looked concerned. Her mom said, “Honey, let’s do that after your leg has healed.”
“Mom, by the time this thing heals, my anger would have burned me alive and Jaxon would have broken all the fine china in the house. We might as well go take anger out on the people who are deserving of it.”
Juniper’s parents looked at each other before nodding at Juniper. This time, it was her father who spoke, “Hm. We have to break the engagement too. Might as well do it now.”
Jaxon went out of the family room to get the servants to clean up his mess and let them know to get the cars ready.
Once everyone was ready, the entire family, from the grandparents to the two siblings, sat in the cars and started the course to go to the Monroe Mansion.
On the way to the Monroe mansion, Juniper saw couples holding hands and whispering to each other, before bursting out laughing. The simple things that couples do together. She had always wanted a love like that.
The simple kind of love.
Doing sweet nothings with a person who loves her…
When their relationship had first started, Zephyr Monroe would make these grand gestures of love. It annoyed Juniper a little, but she accepted them because she thought it was his love language. Just because she wanted a simple love doesn’t mean that everyone else would want that as well, right?
But the gestures ended the day their wedding date was finalized. It took Juniper some time to realize that she was no longer getting flowers every other day. Or that Zephyr was suddenly so very busy so often, but she hadn’t thought much of it.
Coming from a business family, she had seen her father being late from work almost every day but still being so in love with her mother.
Even if it is a small amount of time with your loved ones, how you have spent the time is what matters the most. Juniper didn’t mind if Zephyr didn’t have as much time to spend with her as long as he loved and cared about her from wherever he was. She would be more than happy to wait for him forever if he loved her enough to meet her halfway.
To think that even giving her this basic thing was asking too much from this single-brain cell amoeba.
Juniper curled her finger as if she were grabbing hold of an imaginary knife. Oh, how she wished murder wasn’t illegal…
But unfortunately for her, she was stuck in this world where breaking someone’s bones was illegal, but breaking someone’s heart was not.
Juniper took deep breaths and looked on ahead, away from the road full of couples. The entire Everly family was so angry at all that happened to Juniper, the heat from their anger could have burned the lush green scenery around them if anger had a physically manifested form.
