Chapter 12

Time was ticking by. Val prayed to Moon Goddess to help them to make it in time. Few seconds elevator rode felt like hours. And finally they reached. The bell sounded like a blessing from Moon Goddess to Val.

As soon as they entered the flat something changed in the environment. It was like a spark. Lily put Ariana down on the chair beside Daniel's bed and what had been a spark earlier was now bright light. As soon as she touched the chair Ariana's hand automatically moved towards Daniel. Like a magnet pulling it. She held his hand without any emotions on her face.

Her eyes flickered with recognition but then again it was blank completely blank and lifeless. She neither noticed the man lying infront of her nor people surrounding her. She just held his hand.

But something else also happened at that time which didn't go unnoticed by others in the room.

Daniel's fingers curled. He was responding. His fingers curled on Serena's hand as well as Ariana's. Slowly his grips were tightening. As if he was gaining strength from his two mates even when unconscious. He recognised Ariana in his mind and he was reacting.

There was light in Serena's eyes now. A smile on her lips. She could see their almost faded bond growing strong again. She lifted her face and saw the girl whom she only imagined about. She couldn't believe her eyes. She wanted to ask her, talk to her. She had lots of questions but now was not the time for it. She saw her lifeless eyes and her heart broke for this innocent girl who was her mate's other half.

How much she wanted to hate her only she knew. That girl was the one and only reason for all this pain and trauma but seeing her lifeless yet breathing form Serena couldn't hate her. Infact she felt killing everyone who did this to her. Her eyes held the care and pain of an elder sister for her younger sister. Yes, Ariana was her sister and at that moment she decided she will do anything and everything to avenge her. Even if Ariana dont accept her still she will always stand behind her and if needed infront of her as a shield.

All this time everyone else in the room were holding their breaths not wanting to break this magical moment. Elder Drew had so many questions in his mind but he too didn't dare to say a word. It was one of those moment where you know even breathing loudly can break the magic so like everyone else he too breathed as quietly as possible.

And then they witnessed it. They witnessed a dying man coming to life. Daniel's eyes fluttered and then his lips moved. He was trying to say something. He held on the two hands tightly and they continued to give him strength even though owner of one of them seemed lost but still her presence was working like a magic.

Daniel called "Arianaaa.." It was more like a whisper but thanks to their super hearing power and pin drop silence in the room everyone heard it.

Hearing him call Ariana flinched. Her eyes moved and for tiny moment life came back in them and then she was lost again. Serena noticed it. So as others.

Doctor signalled Val to follow her out. She didnt want to disturb those three. Neither did Val want, so he followed her out. Seeing this as a good opportunity to get his questions answered Drew followed them as well.

"Daniel is reacting. This is a good sign. You made it in time. 15 minutes late and all must have lost. As for Ariana I think she is in shock due to trauma. Its good that she is near Daniel now and we can see that she is somewhat recognizing him. From the looks of it Serena is fine but still I will check her up later. Right now until Daniel wakes up its better not to disturb the trio. We must not separate them yet. Let them gain strength from each other." Doctor said.

Val nodded,

"Doctor now that you have seen Ariana can you tell me why Daniel is in this condition and how can we help Ariana recover.?"

"Its just a theory. Such things are really very rare but yes, its possible. From what I have read, due to trauma and shock mind goes into some sort of isolation. There it makes a world free of any pain and tortures. Its so that their wolf couldn't reach them too. Thats what has happened with Ariana. To escape from whatever she went through she has locked herself up. Due to which her wolf is not able to reach her mind and consciousness. Now when Daniel's wolf Dom tried to reach her wolf he couldn't. And you know that it only happens when the person is dead. So Dom went into auto reaction which happens in this case." Doctor explained.

"Hmmm.. just like how I was not able to establish connection with Daniel."

"As for how can we help Ariana, well, we cant do much actually. Its Daniel only who can bring her back. And chances are good from what we saw in there." Doctor said, "is there anything else you want to know?"

"No, thats it for now. I have to contact Ellie too. You go in I will come back after updating her. I dont want to disturb the trio." Val said.

Doctor nodded and went in. Drew heard it all but he still couldn't put in the connection between Daniel and Ariana. Now the suspense was killing him. He couldn't wait anymore so he asked,

"What was that in there? You said you will take her to Psychiatrist but you brought her to  Alpha Daniel. Amd why is he on bed? What happened to him?"

Elder Drew asked it all in one breath. He was scared that if he didn't ask it all he will burst.

"Alpha Daniel and Ariana are mates. She is Daniel's second mate. They met when Ariana ran away from your pack. But as you know Daniel already has a mate he couldn't think clearly at that time and left Ariana there without even asking her name. By the time he realised what he did it was already too late. Since then we have been searching for her but 2 days ago Daniel couldn't sense Ariana and establish connection with her. As you heard Doctor, his wolf thought his mate died so he started dying too. Serena, Daniel's other mate is a vampire. We almost lost all of them. Its a miracle that I found you and Ariana and were able to save them." Val explained Drew as much he could in present situation. He wanted to tell him about what all Ariana and in her extension Daniel went through but decided it will be better to be explained by Daniel himself. But before Val could leave Drew asked,

"And what tortures Doctor was talking about?"

"Elder Drew I dont want to lie to you but this is something you must hear from Daniel. And plus, its not the time to go in details right now." With that Val left to go and contact Ellie and Elder Drew went back inside.

In the room those three were still in the same position as before except now Daniel was awake and his eyes were open. He was looking at Ariana without even blinking, afraid that if he blinked he will loose her again. He was looking at Ariana who was looking out in the space her hand still holding Daniel's hand and Serena was looking at Daniel with twinkles in her eyes.

Since Daniel woke up he didnt even spare a glance at her but from time to time he kept on pressing her hand acknowledging her presence too. It filled her heart with more love and respect for the man. He didnt forget her even now when his whole attention was on Ariana.

She was satisfied with it. And surprisingly she didnt feel any sort of jealousy for the divided attention nor did she feel angry or betrayed. Few days back this used to be her biggest fear but now that she is in mid of this situation, she didnt feel any sort of negative emotions. Infact she felt happy and blessed.

'Yes blessed. Ofcourse, Moon Goddess made us mates so she must have blessed it. With her blessings how can I have any negative feeling. This is why my heart is at peace now. Now I just want Ariana to come back to us.' Serena thought.

But in all this one person was there who was not happy with the fact that Ariana have a mate who already have mate. He couldn't believe how can Moon Goddess do this. That person was Elder Drew.

'I won't let Ariana suffer anymore. She has already suffered so much because of Alex's betrayal now how will she cope up with the fact that she is second mate of Brown boy. Right now my priority is Ariana's recovery after that I will take Ariana away from this city. For now I wont show my feelings but I will make plans to run away with Ariana from here. I will form new identities for us and adopt her as my grand daughter. Yes, this is the right thing to do. Right now I need this Brown boy for Ariana's recovery.' Elder Drew thought.

Elder Drew was so lost in his thoughts that he almost missed Daniel trying to pull Ariana in his hug. As soon as he did that Ariana cried. A blood curling cry. A painful cry. A cry which held pain and FEAR. Everyone present felt that fear and pain.

Daniel let her go immediately but she didnt stop crying. No one knew what to do and how to help her. Serena and Doctor tried to hold Ariana but she flinched away from their touch. Daniel's hug awakened her trauma from which she was hiding away in her mind.

When Doctor tried to touch her again she cried even more louder and finally she fainted. Slowly Doctor went towards Ariana and checked her pulse and breathing. After confirming that she has fainted Doctor lifted Ariana up and placed her on Daniel's bed.

Daniel tried to hold her hand but Doctor stopped him.

"Alpha I am sorry for this but I dont think that its advisable for you or anyone of us to touch her until she wants us to. Ms. Black has went through so much that she dont trust anyone even in her unconscious mind it will affect her negatively. First we will have to build up the trust." Doctor said, "one thing is good that she is reacting. She is feeling and listening. Your presence will help in her recovery but we will have to take it slow." Doctor explained. 

Daniel nodded slowly and then got up from the bed to maintain some distance between them. Even in unconscious form Ariana's features relaxed as soon as he got away. This broke his heart into million pieces.

'Its all my fault she is in this condition. Now she is not even comfortable in my proximity. First I will help in her recovery and then find her culprits and punish them. I will Ariana let decide whether she will like to stay with me as my mate or reject me. Even though it will break my heart but I will do this for her. I wont force Serena and myself upon her.' Daniel resolved.

He took the chair on which Ariana was sitting while he was lying on the bed. He had lots of questions to ask from Val. How did he find Ariana? How is she alive? Where did he find her? Who is that old man in the room? But until Val comes back he will stay with his mates.

As soon as he thought this he felt a hand on his shoulder and he knew it was Serena. Because of their connection they always know when the other one needs them. Daniel held Serena's waist and started weeping and Serena held on his head comforting him and in return getting comforted.

At that moment as if magnet pulling Ariana's hand moved and held Daniel's free hand which was on the edge of bed.

Doctor wordlessly asked everyone to move out and give the trio some privacy. It was that moment which in the future will become one of the main reason for Ariana's recovery.
