Darkness surrounded me, oppressive and thick, enveloping me. I ran, my bare feet pounding against the unseen ground. My chest ached as I panted for breath. I could hear them behind me, their heavy footfalls gaining ground. Shots sounded and bits of shadow rained down around me, white mist seeping through the holes.
