THE ALPHA KING

I smile looking at my image in the mirror. I should look happy today. Because my father warned me very harshly to look happy. There is a knock on the door and I am startled. I jump in my seat. My palms sweat and I wipe my sweaty palms on my dress. My voice sounds excited. "Yes, come." Seconds go by and my cousin Kate walks in. I see Kate and breathe a sigh of relief. Kate's hazel eyes light up and Kate looks into mine. Today is my birthday and Kate seems happier than I am. Kate doesn't seem to have any traces of the abuse. I'm undecided about whether I should rejoice in it or not. By the way, yes! I'm turning eighteen today. But I don't feel any excitement. My father celebrates our birthday to show our relatives how well off we are. Yes... I am celebrating a birthday for the first time in my life... I'm not telling Kate that I'm celebrating a birthday for the first time in my life, and I'm smiling at her. I stand up and move over to Kate's side. We don't actually see Kate's family much, but my dad called them to our house today. My legs are shaking, but Kate doesn't notice. "Let's go!" She said. Kate closes my eyes with her hands and leads me inside. I smile falsely and move towards the hall. Kate takes her hands off my eyes and I look around. The lights are off and only the candle lights illuminate the surroundings. I approach the table where the birthday cake is and I hear applause. "Happy birthday, Ashia!" said all the people on around. They are all celebrating my birthday. To make a wish, I close my eyes and put my hands together. I wish you the most in life. I wish even if it was impossible. I open my eyes and blow out the candles. Just at this moment, I hear a voice. Wolf howl! Oh my god! A very clear wolf howl! Tough and harsh! That's when everything happened happens! Everything happens so suddenly! Suddenly there is a sharp pain that stabbs. A harsh ache enters my head and I collapse to the ground, holding my head. Pain is coming all over my body. I end up crying because of the pain I feel. The clothes I am wearing are falling apart and the pieces fall to the ground. My bones are breaking. I hear the sound of my bones breaking. I scream as the heaviness I feel in my body increases. The pain I feel in my body is getting bigger and bigger. I'm expanding over time, and what's even more interesting is that white, huge hairs grow on my skin. White hairs are gushing out from all over my body. What's happening to me? Oh my god! What's happening to me? I hear a voice. "We finally met..." This sound... In those moments of horror, I look around. Everyone is looking at me in fear. What's going on? My ears hear a loud scream. Despite my own pain, I turn my head and look in the direction the scream is coming from. The scream comes from Kate. Kate looks at me and screams. My gaze finds my father. My father was always a cold-blooded person. He immediately breaks out of surprise. Another voice comes out of my head. "They're going to hurt us! Should we get out of here right away?" Who says we? Oh my god! This voice comes from inside my head! I lose control of my body. And all of a sudden I'm running. Oh my god! I don't do that! I can't control my body! There's something inside of me, and it's triggering me to run! I'm running at full speed. Whoever owns this run is the voice in my head. I quickly run to the window and jump outside. The glass is breaking, and I don't care about it when the glass shards cut my body. My glass shards stick into my skin. I feel the blood flowing on my skin. But it's like adrenaline keeps me from hurting. Everything seems to exist but does not exist... I hear my breath voice. I breathe hard and loud. My eyes... It's like my eyes have changed... I see everything differently. I obey the voice inside me and I run. I run non-stop... I'm so scared right now because I don't know what happened to me. I run into the woods. The only thought in my mind as I ran into the woods was; Escape as far as you can from everything! I want to go very far and I run away without stopping. I run away. Oh my god! This time, my dad is really going to kill me! My father is going to kill me for running away! But I can't stop running. A tree looks to me. This tree looks brighter than others. I quickly run to the side of the tree and turn around to look at my house. My house is still visible. As I look back, my feet get caught in the pieces of twigs on the ground. Suddenly, I roll to the ground. But I have to run... I quickly get up and look back at my house. Oh my god! The house is not in place! And I'm not in the forest from which I fled! The world seems to have turned upside down! Everything has changed! This is not the forest that I ran away from. The voice in my head that hurts me is silent. I lean tirelessly against the tree next to me. I have a hard time believing all of this. I think I was crazy! Hands... I didn't have hands, instead of my hands I had paws and claws. I want to cry, but when I cry, I make sounds like howling. This must all be a nightmare! I can't believe it! One thing is certain; that I'm not in my own world right now... The trees around were taller and more frequent. "No, Ashia... Now we're in our own world!" says the voice in my head. I trembled with fear. Because the voice is right in my head. "Yyy... YOU!" I shout. I stutter. "Who are you?!" My voice sounds like a growl from the outside. Before long the answer comes. "I'm you. You're me too. I am your past, present and future. Your ancestors and my future children! And we are where we need to be right now with you." I'm asking, "What exactly are you?" I'm out of breath right now. "I am the wolf in you. I am your wolf. You and I are actually the same person." I need to answer calmly, but I can't. I need to know some things, so I keep asking, keeping my voice together. "Well, you're telling me... I mean... I mean, what happens to us?" I'm very curious about that question. "We heard the voice of our Alpha, Ashia! Can you believe it? The voice of your master. I walk and each place I pass is more frightening than the last. Suddenly I growl with the chill I feel. There's someone else here besides me! Yes, there definitely is! Someone is spying on me! I emphasize that I use the plural suffix, because it's not just one. I strain my ears for the sounds to come, I hear each of them breathing, they probably hear my footsteps and breathing as I walk. If I run, I'll attract attention and I'll be outnumbered, so I'll get caught. It's best to pretend I don't notice them. Yeah... That's exactly what I was planning to do, but if one of them hadn't jumped me... "Aaaaahhh!" I shout and growl. After dodging the wolf jumping on me, I turn to them and growl at them.
