I barely slept at night. I lay down beside Lavinia while she slept in my bed, but every time I closed my eyes, a gripping fear took hold of me. What if I was dreaming and when I woke up she wasn’t here? What if she disappeared again? What if she was an illusion created by the warlocks to toy with me?
I held her hand most of the night, and she didn’t feel like an illusion.
