I knew Lavinia’s message wouldn’t come right away. It even might take her a few days, or a full week, or longer, to set it all up. She had to pretend to be still consumed by darkness while plotting how to weaken the warlocks. Not just plotting but executing it as well.
I paced the space in front of my bed and groaned. I hated the idea of her alone in a nest of snakes. I knew she was capable of taking care of herself, but that didn’t mean I didn’t want to help. I wanted to be there with her, for her, forever.
