I knew I was playing with fire when I invited her to stay on my floor, but I needed her close. At least for now. She fascinated me. She wasn't a prisoner, and I hoped she wouldn't feel that way.
When I agreed to Saffron's terms, I phoned my Beta, Alaric, who is also my brother, to call for an emergency meeting. The sooner we get her initiated, the sooner my entire pack will be able to provide her with the much-needed protection she requires. I wouldn't necessarily say Malik had the means to defeat my pack, but who knows what he has been doing in his absence while looking for Saffron?
