Chapter 4 rangers

"0 creature" Henry muttered and kicked the dead goblin away, seeing its blood spilling out. He stood still as more goblins surrounded him.

"You're all dead" Henry spoke and chuckled before lunging forward while slashing at the closest goblin's neck. The goblin head flew through the air lost far away and landed with heavy thuds.

"This is the best weapon ever," Henry spoke looking at his sword.

Soon he was surrounded by the six remaining goblins who were moving closer to him from different directions and with a swift flick of his wrist, he teleported behind the first goblin and pierced his sword into his chest.

As the goblin stumbled, he swiftly lunged forward, his sword slicing through the air, vanquishing the creature.

The remaining goblins, startled by their comrade's sudden daze, turned to face Henry. His movements were a dance of precision and speed. He zigzagged across the battlefield, teleporting from one goblin to the next, leaving a trail of bewildered foes in his wake, each s***h and momentarily incapacitated.

With each s***h, Henry's confidence swelled, his agility unmatched as he outmaneuvered the bewildered goblins. As the final goblin stood, trembling with fear, Henry's teleportation brought him face-to-face, and with a sly smile, he sliced the goblin's forehead.

"I'm good" Henry muttered and a notification popped up.

[System Notification: Experience 100/1000] He read the notification inwardly and with joy he screamed out.

"Yes!, it's working"

With a smile on his face, he stored the bodies of the goblins in his storage ring and continued to walk deeper into the forest, looking for more goblins to kill.

Looking down at the ground as he stood up, he hopped off and landed with a thud. When he hit the floor, he heard shouting In the distance, and with his elven ears, he could tell it wasn't far away.

He ran in the direction the noise came from, and after a six-minute run, he came across a very familiar scene.

A group of five adventures were fighting a group of goblins. At the back of the goblins was a goblin shaman casting spells.

The adventures consisted of two knights, a boy and a girl dressed in a heater outfit, and an elf archer who wore White leather that covered most of her body apart from her midriff and legs.

She seemed to value speed over protection, and lastly, there was a tall and muscular human mage with a bald head standing at the back casting protective magic over the group.

The two human knights looked like each other; white hair, blue eyes, and light skin.

That's when Henry turned his attention to the Elf, who had dark hair and blue eyes presenting a fairly average appearance for an elf.

In contrast, the female Knight surpassed her in terms of beauty. But when he saw the elf he realized how beautiful she was.

He couldn't take his eyes off her, she had beautiful brown skin with long Blue hair tied into a ponytail that dangled down her back.

The elf had a pair of blue eyes that sucked the soul from anyone who got close and pointy elf ears.

She wasn't tall at all, she was about five feet and thick in all the right places.

'She's beautiful' Henry spoke to himself, shaking his head to regain focus on the battle, He observed that they were holding their own against the goblins until an additional wave emerged from behind them.

The bald mage turned around and cast fireballs at them to hold back the incoming horde.

The elf looked back and then covered the mage, shooting arrows precisely. They were about to be overrun when Henry intervened.

''Your Hero is here baby" Henry muttered as he jumped over. Pointing his hand at the incoming goblins he threw his sword at one of the goblin's chests, that was when the adventures noticed a newbie presence.

With a smile on Henry's face, he moved around wildly, slashing any goblin he encountered while laughing.

He had no real skill beyond what the old Henry's memories showed him. And the new skills he just learned from the skill book.

This gave the adventures more moral to kill the goblins and they took a lot of them down.

That was until a fire blast smashed into the right side of Henry's body, sending him flying which made him jump.

When the elf saw this, she aimed her bow at the beast who attacked Henry.

She released a Mana arrow that flew through the air, puncturing the beast head.

It dropped to the ground dead, and that's when she heard the knight coming from behind her.

"Where did he go?" The female Knight asked as she looked around.

When the elf heard this, she turned to them while thinking.

'Did they not see him get blown away?' Pointing in the direction Henry flew off.

"He was sent flying in that direction, let's go check on him"

They all ran towards the direction and was searching for him until a shout was heard.

"Over here!"

The moon elf found him first and called the others over. When they arrived, he was lying on the floor with his head facing the sky.

Henry slowly sat up and groan as the pain subsided while looking at the Elf and asked a question.

"What's your name beautiful elf?"

She narrowed her eyes before replying.

"That's your first concern, not that the right side of your body is badly burned"

He looked at his right side and realized it was burned from his face to his waist. Its white skin was now pitch black and burning.

"Oh s**t," The pain slammed into him, making him lay back down again.

He was in agony while the healer healed him.

The pain subsided slowly as regeneration kicked in. After a while, he was healed and even his burnt hair was back to normal.

Henry stood up under the shocked gaze of the other. He began wondering how he was going to take his burnt shirt and pants home, but that wasn't a problem, one of the adventures helped him with a new shirt and pants, he looked straight at the moon elf and repeated the same question with a big smile.

"See, I am fine now, will you tell me your name?"

She replied with a smile.

"My name is Henry," he said stretching his arms forward.

"My name is Hermione, we just finished clearing the goblin's camp and we are heading to the Guild. What quest did you take?"

"Ah, am just hunting I haven't join the guild yet"

Henry replied smiling.

"Would you like to join us? We might need your help" Hermione spoke and let out a warm smile.

'Wow, She's so beautiful and lovely' Henry muttered inwardly with smiles on his face.

"You haven't replied" Hermione cleared her throat and spoke.

Moving away from his lustfully taught he answered her question. "Yes I will"

Hermione smiled and introduced her companions who had joined her. "The lion Demi-human over here is Kelvin, the two knights are Lina and Ella the healer is Marie, and the mage is Buggy.

As Henry observed them, he noticed that the twins looked fatigued, the healer was sweating and the big guy seemed unaffected by the recent events.

"Okay, let's go" Buggy muttered as they started their jorney to the guild.

Henry and Hermione were discussing life as they walked.

"Why did you agree to follow us to the adventures camp?" Hermione asked.

"Your smile is so charming and I just want to walk with you so I can learn more skills" Henry muttered and Hermione chuckled.

"So where did you come from?" Henry asked.

Hermione looked at him with a strange look before answering "I came from a land far south from here".

"Oh, what is it like there?" Henry asked with smiles on his face.

"Dark, damp, and a battleground, if you live there, you must learn how to fight" Henry got a quick response. After that Hermione stopped speaking, and Henry just watched her speed up.

Her long black ponytail was swinging side to side, and he noticed her ears twitching which meant she was annoyed.

A couple of hours later, they arrived at the adventures camp, and that's when they started heading towards the Guild building.

Soon they reached the building, and entering the building they approached the counter.

The receptionist at the counter looked up at them. She was a high Elf with white long hair tied into a neat bun.

"Welcome back Rangers, how was the goblin's hunt?"

"It was fine, a few more goblins than we expected, but in the end it was fine" Hermione responded.

When Henry heard this, he thought to himself. 'Rangers is that their adventuring group name?'

"It turned out well with this guy's help over there," Hermione said pointing at Henry.

The receptionist looked over to Henry and smiled at Hermione.

"I can tell the both of you are in love, that's why you let's him take the quest with your group" The White-haired receptionist spoke and chuckled.

"Shut up, I didn't say that!" Hermione replied in a low tone

"Look he is staring at you," the receptionist spoke as she turned to Henry and introduced herself "Hello, Hermione's crush, my name is Rukky, and I'm her best friend"

"I'm Henry, nice to meet you Rukky, I love your hair" Henry spoke as he took a few steps to the counter.

"Hey Rukky, I've you record our successful quest" Buggy spoke from the other side as he walked towards the counter.

Smiling and giggling Rukky went to look for the records of the quest.

After some minutes she brought out a file and filled it.

"Congratulations Rangers" Rukky
