Summary of Book One
Charlie was granted the gift of healing by the Goddess, and while she understood that that made her a tool that needed to be protected, it didn't lessen the hurt that she felt from being so isolated from the rest of her Pack. Her wolf was often her only company, though even she would leave her when Charlie would want to do something she disagreed with, like wanting to leave the Pack, or reject her fated mate, Blake, the son of the Alpha who had made her life a living Hell. As time went on, she had to come to terms with giving up her former lover, Jasmine, and embrace Blake, though things became more complicated as she found out that she had another mate, the Alpha of a nearby pack, Damien. Juggling multiple mates and learning how to be Alpha so she can keep Blake's secret shame, that he is unable to shift, she struggles to deal with her own trauma and come to terms with her new life.
It doesn't help when she learns that her mother has been hiding her true nature from her, that she is Lycan royalty. The King embraces his cousin and her daughter eagerly, despite him meeting Charlie for the first time due to the fact that Blake's life had been threatened multiple times. Dealing with all of the pain, adding Savannah, Blake and Damien's other mate, was difficult at first, but Charlie herself couldn't help falling for her just as her mates did. It did help that the Goddess Herself assured Charlie that She had not made a mistake, but that they all would bring out the best in each other.
Charlie had found an orphaned pup named Quinn, and took them in as her own, though in many ways, she had given a lot of the parenting over to her mother since she was still too young to really know how to look after a child. Regardless, she loved them, and tried her best to prove it constantly.
Throughout Charlie being put on trial for being a traitor, helping Blake through his trauma, Charlie stepping down from her position to give it to Blake and living up to her new title as Saintess, the four did their best to be there for each other, even though they lived in two different Packs. An attack from Charlie's ex, Jasmine, forced Charlie and Blake to reevaluate their relationship, but they made it through eventually, and worked on reestablishing communication.
Both Damien and Blake had force Marked Charlie, so she had yet to Mark either of them, or Savannah. However, as Damien shows time and time again how deeply he cares for her, Charlie can't help herself and decides to Mark him, much to the disappointment of Blake.
That is where Book One leaves off, and Book Two begins.
