C32: An Unusual Decision
Raine was the only one left in the hall.
Two things kept her behind. One was her restless mind about the coming hunt, and the other was Lilith.
She had not seen her since that day, and it made her wonder if she truly wanted her dead or she felt guilty to see her.
Still deep in thought, she felt a light tap on her head, pulling her back to reality.
She looked up quickly. “Mrs Ray…”
The woman looked at her with a calm but firm expression.
“What are you still doing here?” she asked. “Shouldn’t you be resting in your chambers?”
Raine gave a small apologetic smile.
“I lost track of time,” she admitted.
Mrs Ray sighed softly, then her expression changed slightly.
“I heard you went to the garden.” Raine stiffened.
‘So it was already known’ she noted mentally.
