Chapter 17

We are here in school because we have to get my documents. I just let them wait in the Waiting Shed, where I waited for Ed. I went to our room, but it was empty. Now I know the feeling of being a teacher, imagine many people started their journey here and leave after their journey were finished. I realize that even people will come and go, there will still people who will take this place and will start their journey here.

“Zia!” Ed greeted when he saw me in our room.

“Hello? What are you doing here? ” I asked.

“Why did you guys move out?” he immediately asked.

“A long story Ed but I will still visit this place naman.” I explained.

“Any problem? Where did you guys move out?” he asked again.

“Nothing to worry about po. Sa Baguio.” I answered.

He looks so worried about us because in the meantime, they help me naman.

“Are you busy today?” Edriell said.

“I am with my friends right now but tomorrow I will just going to chat you.” I said then hurriedly go out of our room because our teacher wasn’t here.

“Where are you going today?” he asked.

“Is this an interview? I’ll just meet my friends over there because they are waiting.” I said, but he was still following me.

“Ella, can you come with me in the guidance?” I said.

“Oh Edriell? What are you doing here?” Nath suddenly greeted Edriell that’s why we’re all confused.

“Did you guys met before?” Axe said.

“Oo nga! Magkakakilala kayo?” tanong naman ni Ella.

“Yes, we are! We are cousins!” Edriell said. “How did you guys meet? Nath doesn’t know how to approach a person.” Ed added.

“You guys are cousin?” I asked because I don’t know what’s going on.

“Yes, Zia and I am the person who you saw in the Cafe Bueno.” Nath explained.

The world is so small and I didn’t expect that they are cousins pala. Nath is my comforter and my friend while Ed is my crush. How come I was so blessed?

“Alam niyo hindi na talaga ako makapaniwala na andami nang nangyayari sa mundo.” Ella said and we are here at the Cafe Bueno and I already got all of my needs sa school.

“Why? Is there somethning wrong?” Ed asked.

“Alam niyo nasa Pilipinas tayo mga bhie tapos nag-eenglish kayo!” Ella complained.

“We got used that we speak English but we can understand tagalog.” Nath explained.

“Ella, I have a favor to ask?” I interrupted.

“What is it?” All of them answered.

“Kayo ba si Ella? Puwede ba mag bonding muna kayo tatlo tapos balik kayo mamaya dito.” I suggested.

It’s so hard to force them because they are too hardheaded. I just told them that I will treat them later if they will leave and thankfully that word was effective.

“Ano ba favor mo Zia? Gusto mo papuntahin sila dito noh?” Ella said.

“Oo, to say goodbyes kasi dapat din naman nila malaman that we move out na.” I said.

“Sige tatawagan ko sila isa isa and I hope that they will answer.” she said.

“Do not force them honey!”I reminded her.

We are just waiting here and Celestia arrived first and her eyes were happy. You can tell what’s going on people life just by looking in their eyes. Our eyes never lie.

“Zia! Kumusta na?” Celestia immediately asked and she hugged me.

“Aray! Pinapatay mo na ako Cel ha!” I complained.

“Kumusta kana? Antagal na natin di nagkita Zia! Pumunta ako sa bahay niyo, wala naman kayo. Alam mo okay lang yan, diba sabi mo sa akin na wag natin sayangin ang luha natin sa mga taong hindi naman nagpapahalaga sa atin.” she said.

That’s the thing I expected that she was going to said but I was wrong….

“Ella? Ba’t ka tumawag?” she said and then she look at me.

“Hi Cel!” I greeted.

“Zia! Totoo ba talaga yung about sa Dad mo? Nakabuntis yung papa mo ng iba?” she immediately asked.

“Hoy Celestia! Hindi mo man lang siya kumustahin? At ang gusto mo pa talagang malaman ay kung totoo ba?” Ren complained.

“It’s okay Ella and Cel, I was wrong again with my expectations. How about the girls?” I said.

“Alam mo kasi Zia nabahagi na dito na nagcheat talaga yung papa mo. Sila naman Feigh at Sersha ay yun pumupunta sa bahay niyo pero alam mo ang gagawin doon? Edi palaging nag-aabang kung pupunta ba talaga yung babae ng Papa mo.” Cel added.

“Zia! Yung mama mo kumusta? Alam mo hindi pala talaga mahal ng Dad mo yung Mom mo noh. Pinilit lang pala ng mama mo yung Dad mo.” Allisha suddenly interrupted even when she just arrived.

“Seryoso ba talaga kayo?” tanong agad ni Ella.

“Alam mo ba Zia, mas maganda nga mama mo doon eh. Hindi ko nga alam kong bakit ba siya hiniwalayan ng Dad mo.” Sersha said.

“Tsaka alam mo din Zia, mali din naman yung Mom mo. Dapat kasi hindi ipilit ang sarili mo sa taong ayaw naman sayo.” Feigh said.

“Zia nagpapahayag lang kami ng nararamdaman namin ha. Wag mo naman sanang masamain. Sabi nga ng mama ko na dahil lang daw sa business kaya nagpakasal sila dalawa.” Jeanie added.

I was just listening to them, whatever they would say about us, I doesn’t care about it anymore because their words doesn’t affect me anymore because first, it wasn’t true and second, I’m getting used to it. The thing that just hurt me right now is they really questioned about my family issues without even asking if I am okay, if I can endure it or if I can pass this battle.

They even judge me and my family when supposedly they would be the one who will cheer me up. They should help me forget. I wasn’t begging for them to check on me but I am expecting their presence. As always you don’t need to say a word or bluff anything, just let them appreciate your presence.

Maybe I was really wrong because I am expecting them to be like me. The person who would never judge you and never question what happened. The person that will only say what she thinks. The person who would think about what she would speak, if it is right or wrong! The person who would tell them that they deserve the world. I acted that way because that is who I am. That is what I want to show to the people.

Be the model and the inspiration of everybody. Everyone complains about this harsh world when they couldn’t even change theirselves, they couldn’t even rule this world. World is harsh to them because we are also harsh to it. I wasn’t saying that if what did I did to you, you should also do that way to me but I was saying that do what you can and understand what is the meaning of a “true friend”.

“Are you guys done?” I asked but they didn’t answered.

“Well, if you guys are done, ako naman! I wasn’t expecting that you guys will say that to me. You guys are over the line. I won’t ask you to credit what I’ve done because I just did it because you guys are my friends. Friends for me is a comfort, the one who would cheer you and will help you to grow..... but, I know guys, that helping me isn’t your responsibility and obligations. I just wanted to express what I wanted to express that’s why I told you to come here because I need to tell you something, but you guys bluff first, kaya wala na akong time."

“Gusto ko lang naman sana magpaalam kasi napakaselfish ko naman if hindi ako magpapaalam at umalis nalang. At some point, nahiya ako sa sarili ko kasi ang taas ng expectations ko..... but it’s okay because you’re still here kaya thank you so much. I would like you to know that, I’m still thankful that you guys still came here for me.”

“I hope that you will never judge someone without even knowing the whole story. What we see on the outside, doesn’t mean that’s the concept na. Why? If you look at book ba, at the first glaze and in the title you would know how that story flows? Hindi naman diba? You still need to read it and finish it, then if you finish it , then that’s the moment that you will give a comment about that story and hindi nakakaguilty tignan kasi alam mo na ang storya and lastly, you will not just read the book but you have to analyze and understand it thoroughly.” I said.

“Required ba talaga manira para lang makasabay sa chismis? Hindi ba kailangan muna intindihin bago mo siraan?” I added.

I just sit and drink some water because it’s like I’m a parent who scolded her kids because they did something wrong. I'm doomed....
