Chapter 4

I entered the music room because we have a practice for next month event but when I entered I only saw Edriell, he’s playing a guitar and he played the song titled “God Gave Me You” then he saw me watching him so he stop and waved to me.

“Hi Lezia, what should we play today?” he said.

“Hmmmm the song that would really hit the heart of everyone especially to those person who’s been prioritizing others than their own, yung Ako Naman Muna.”  I suggested.

“Yeah, I heard that one and it really sounds good.” He said.

He started playing the guitar while I am singing. He stared at me but when I stared back he look in the other way. Why am I feeling butterflies? Hoy Zylezia tumigil ka! We finished singing and then our leader entered.

“Hi guys, kayo paba? I already told them that as soon as I announced you should already be on time.” Ate stephie said.

“As always te, they never been early.” I answered.

“Totoo nga, ba’t pa ako nagwowonder.” she added.

Music is my soul because its always been a healing for me. We practiced until 5 P.M. but I just stayed in the room because I have to practice some chords but I saw Edriell entered again so I stop and I thought that he already go home.

“Ed, did you forgot something?” I asked.

“Nothing, why are you still here? Malapit na mag gabi oh.” he replied.

“I just need to practice this verse because I always made a mistake usually in this part and I don’t want to be a burden to anyone that’s why I practice all by myself.” I responded.

“You should have told me because I usually going home late tsk.” He suggested.

“I don’t want to pressure anyone.”

“You didn’t pressure any people but always remember when you need us you should approach us, not at all times you can be independent.” Edriell said.

Omygosh Edriell wag kangang ganyan mas madedevelop feelings ko lagot ka. He insisted to taught me so I said yes nalang so that there will be no more rebuttal that is going to happen because I know we are both competitive.

“Lezia, what’s your type?” he suddenly asked so I was very shocked.

“Ty-Type? Why did you ask that suddenly?” I asked because if I could just be selfish to myself I should I answer that he’s my type but in order to not be hurt I should keep quiet.

“I mean like many people like you in this campus then you didn’t even like them back.”he explained.

“Uhmm I don’t know but I am still not ready to be in that status. I just want to focus on myself and friends.” I answered and its true that I don’t want to be in love because I want to prioritize myself first. Yes he is my crush but dapat crush lang muna ayaw kong masaktan.

“Pero malay mo yun taong hinahanap mo ay nandiyan na pala o paparating pa.” he insisted.

“Then I hope they will wait” I don’t know what’s running on his mind but something suspicious about him and I don’t want to expect that he like me.

“Ed, di kaba uuwi malapit na mag 8 oh magcoclose na ang school” I told him because were still here at the school and it’s almost 8 P.M. There are still some students because some of them are varsity so they need to practice.

“Lets go, I’ll walk you home.”he suggested.

“No, just take a jeepney first kaya ko naman sarili ko pero ikaw ang layo pa sa inyo tsaka pupunta kapa sa mama mo sa hospital”sabi ko.

“It’s already evening and sobrang delikado maglakad mag-isa.”he replied.

“Okay pero hindi kaba papagalitan?” I asked.

“Nah mom and dad knows that I have to go home late and they agreed so it’s okay.”

“Okay I won’t argue anymore.” I just shut up because were not gonna get home if we still going to argue but buhay nga naman oh, umuulan nakakairita! Wala pa din naman akong dala na payong.

“Do you have an umbrella with you Ed?” I asked.

“Uhm no, I left it at the house but don’t you worry there’s 7eleven over there and I’ll just buy an umbrella.” he said.

“But mababasa ka, baka lalagnatin ka niyan maghintay nalang tayo until malapit na matapos ang ulan” sabi ko because I know that if he will insisted to go to 7eleven he probably can’t go to school tomorrow.

“No its okay, thanks for being concern about my health tho” then he run kaya wala na akong magagawa sa senior na yon hay nako ito talagang si Ed, he always follow his self always! hindi marunong makinig.

 While waiting for him I just stand by here in the waiting shed and enjoying the sound of the rain but a light of car make me flinch and then the car stopped in front of me.

“Excuse me ma’am Lezia, nakita niyo po ba si Edriell? Gabi na kasi tapos umuulan pa pinapasundo na ng Mama niya.” his driver asked.

“Yes po but bumibili pa po siya nang payong diyan sa malapit na 7eleven, sorry po but he stayed at the school because of me because I told him to teach me the chords. Sorry po talaga kuya.” I explained.

“Okay lang po ma’am, umuulan lang po kaya ko po siya sinundo dahil mahirap bumiyahe pag-umuulan tsaka alam po ng mama at papa niya na sa kasama ka niya.” he replied with a smile face.

“Hey kuya, did mom got worried already? I just bought an umbrella because she doesn’t have one.” Edriell just arrived and he was very soaked on the rain.

“Oh pumasok kana dahil oh lalagnatin ka niyan bata ka! Ano ka superhero?” his driver scolded him and Ed pouted and he’s very cute.

“Yes, but we have to drive her home because it’s so late na.” He told his driver.

They really drive me home and they have a funny bond that made me enjoy their company.

“Thank you po kuya, Edriell thank you so much and I have something to give you” I find my medicine box and get the paracetamol biogesic because I know that he will have a fever tomorrow. “Inumin mo yan dahil baka magkalagnat ka.”

“Thank you for this Lezia, take care always and see you tomorrow” he waved and closed the door.

 Omygosh, I’m thankful na magaling ako umacting kaya natago ko ang kilig kanina. Pagpasok ko sa bahay ay wala nanaman sila mommy and daddy because they said na they have a business meeting but I know that they will gonna spend their weekends with me kaya it’s okay for me to be lonely and I have some cats naman here, yaya and our drivers. Yes we have drivers but I just want to walk because its kinda type of exercise and also sobrang lapit lang naman ng school namin.  

While I was eating, one message pop up and I was very confused.

Unknown Number: Zyle next time always bring your umbrella and don’t go home late because you know walking home alone on a dark roads especially at night is dangerous
