When I woke up, I expected to find her laying next to me. Last night we talked about heading out on the boat with the others, and finding a trail that sloped past various beauty spots. I wanted to spend a day like the night before, good company and a beautiful woman, and the sun baking the earth and warming the air. Before we all plunged into the lake to cool off. Last night she wrapped herself up in me, another exhausting day ended with her snuggling tightly against me, as if I were her protector. I felt like I was some burly, brawny, invincible unbreakable person around her. She was so petite and so fragile to me, there wasn't a thing I wouldn't do, in my mind, to keep her safe.
