Under The Night's Airglow

The mysterious attack

I woke up in a bench nearby and the students were gathered around me, beside me Nancy was holding my hand and, as I opened my eyes she gave me a tight hug, I sat up straight, but everyone looked at me as if they had seen a ghost. I was confused but then I saw the teacher and what looked like the museum manager arguing! Then I heard some sirens and I immediately whispered to Nancy “I broke the orb didn’t I? and that’s why the cops are here.” she didn’t reply but was crying so I knew something was definitely bad. Some cops and paramedics showed up and I asked instantly “shoot! is carol okay?? I really didn’t mean to hurt her!” Finally the teacher came and saw the look of confusion on my face so she said to Nancy “I think you should take her to the ambulance and check if everything is alright…” wait… me? Why? I’m perfectly fine I thought. Before I could ask anything a paramedic was checking my vitals and after some tests everything came out to be normal and the cops went back but no one said why I got those tests done neither did I ask as I knew Nancy would tell me later. We went back and both of us were silent.

 No one spoke a word the only thing we could hear was the sound of the cars passing by and the engine of the bike. Nancy held on to me today more tightly that ever. I was creating endless scenarios about what could have happened when I fainted but none of them were even a little close to the actual truth… we reached my house and my parents hugged me tightly and started asking me if I was fine I gave them a warm smile and sat them down and told them all that I remembered. My mom hugged me again and said the teacher contacted her and would be telling her what happened tomorrow and said that I should go and rest…
