The Reason Why I Like Stetson Park

CATALINA’S POINT OF VIEW

The day of the intramurals for this year arrives so fast. I never thought that we can finish preparing all the things we need for this event in just a short time, and with that, we got rewarded by the president of this school! Everything is fine and smooth except this one thing about Stetson not being able to play for his last year in high school. There’s a lot of female students looking forward to the volleyball event but when we posted the player names they are all disappointed when they didn’t see his name and started cursing the student council because they thought we stole Stetson from the volleyball event. Geez!

“Ms. Cat, here’s your snack,” Stetson called me and handed over a sandwich and a bottled juice. I smiled at him and immediately accepted what he is giving me. I head back on doing my task while eating the sandwich he gave me.

“By the way, Cat did you fix the issue about Stetson?” Mary asked me the treasurer of the student council while eating. 

“Oh, I will work on that after I settle all the things about this event,” I said then smiled at them. I know that they are worried about me because the female students that are expecting Stetson’s participation in the volleyball event are posting and sending me some hate messages. Not only that but also they started to pull a prank on me, like last time when I was left alone here, they locked up the door of the student council and I was stuck there for more than 2 hours. Thank goodness, the security guard of this school was checking all the rooms and he saw that two girls are standing nearby and checking my reaction on what they’ve done to me. That’s not the only prank they pulled on me, but there’s a lot more to mention, that’s why my members are worried about me.

“Ms. Cat, you don’t need to worry about it anymore I will talk to them,” Stetson said all of a sudden and leave the room. I was about to stop him when Mary stopped me while telling me not to follow him.

“They will hate me more if he will defend me! I can’t take anymore mean pranks from them!” I said and my tears started to flow. I feel that my knees are started to lose their strength so I sit on my chair and lean my head on the table. I may look strong but honestly, I am so down today ever since they started pulling their prank on me. 

STETSON’S POINT OF VIEW

I was on my way to confront all the fangirls who are pulling pranks on Ms. Cat. I know that there are stupid, mean female students who are pulling pranks on Ms. Cat and I cannot just be blind about it. I am near the main stage of our school when a girl from the student council is calling me while running. 

“Stetson!” She is shouting my name while running. I stopped walking so she can catch up to me to hear what she has to say. 

“Stetson, please don’t do it.” She said and I don’t know what she's pertaining to. 

“What do you mean?” I asked and it took her a second to answer because she is gasping for some air. Geez! Did she run from the student council room to here just to tell what she was about to say? I wonder how important is it?

“Well, after you leave the student council room, Ms. Cat is trying to stop you but you are walking so fast that we cannot stop you anymore.” She said that made my forehead curl.

“Huh? Why does she want to stop me? It’s for her!” I said and comb my hair using my hand to release my frustration. 

“That’s the reason, she didn’t want to make the situation even worst! Did you know that the other day, a pair of your female supporters locked her inside the student council room?” She said and I can see that she is holding back her tears. I can feel that, even though she is not that closed with Ms. Cat, she loves her so much as if they are close friends. 

“But, if I didn’t do anything they will continue pulling pranks on her, and I don’t want her to get hurt anymore because of me,” I said and comb again my hair. 

“I also don’t want her to get anymore, but let’s believe in her. Let’s believe that she can handle this okay?” She said so I just nod at her and we started heading back to the student council room. While on our way, I saw that Ms. Cat is walking on her own when this girl is seating in the corridor stretches her leg that makes Ms. Cat fall to the ground, I was about to head towards there when this girl stops me. I looked at her and saw that she is shaking her head telling me to stay calm. I looked again at Ms. Cat and saw that the girl started to yell at her but Ms. Cat just apologize to the girl until the girl hit her on the head and leave Ms. Cat alone. Damn! I can’t stand this anymore! I continue watching Ms. Cat until she reached the student council room.

“Let’s hurry,” I said to the girl and started running to reach the student council room as fast as I can. As I reached the room, I saw that Ms. Cat’s head is leaning on the table and I can see that her shoulders are moving up and down which indicates she’s crying. I was about to approach her but this girl again stops me. Damn! Why does she keep on showing up when I was about to do something for Ms. Cat! She’s frustrating me!

“What?! You keep on stopping me, over and over again! What do you want me to do? Just stare at her while she is suffering over there because of me?!” I yelled at the girl and I know that I scared her but I don’t care! I am so frustrated because she kept on stopping me!

“What’s going on here?” Ms. Cat asked and trying to keep her composure as if she didn’t cry earlier. 

“I’m sorry Ms. Cat if you are suffering because of me. Let me fix this please.” I said while walking towards her. I can see that she was about to cry, so she looked at the ceiling to stop her tears from falling and she smiles at me when she is sure that her tears will not show.

“What will you do to stop them?” She asked that made me speechless. Seriously, I planned to speak on the main stage of this school but it will be a bigger mess. 

“See? You don’t have any plans. Thank you for the thought, but I can handle this, and also it is not your fault that I am experiencing this.” She said then smiles before she sits on her chair and does her tasks again. I was so amazed right now because she is so strong and independent. She is not just all talk that she can handle it by herself, because all I can see right now is unbothered president of student council but it still not enough for me I need to do something.

CATALINA’S POINT OF VIEW

I am currently doing all the tasks I need to finish for this day when someone called me from outside of this room. I looked at him while waiting for what he will say but he is just looking at me.

“What’s wrong Ben?” I asked him, by the way, Ben is also part of the student council so he knew that I am here and he should know how to approach me!

“Ah, well, can I have a little of your time Ms. Cat?” He asked while looking so nervous. What’s wrong with him? I stand up from my chair and walk towards him.

“Why?” I asked but instead of answering me he just pulled my arms and started bringing me somewhere I don’t know. 

“Hey, hey, can you tell me where are we going?” I asked but he is not answering. I just also stay quiet because I do not have enough energy to argue with someone. After a few minutes of walking, we finally reached our destination and it was the volleyball field. 

“What are we doing here?” I asked but he just pointed in the volleyball field and saw this familiar face playing. 

“What the hell is he doing there?” I asked Ben but he just shrugged his shoulder and continue watching the game. The game is already on its 3rd set and Stetson’s team is on the winning side. Yes, you read that right, he playing volleyball for these intramurals without training. Geez! What’s gotten into him?! After a few services, the tournament is finished and Stetson’s team will move into the finals. I was about to leave when I heard the announcer called my name, so I looked at that guy and saw that it was Stetson. Everyone is waiting on what will happen next including me, some are whispering and also most of them are clueless about what the hell is going to happen!

“Ms. Cat!” He started while looking at me. I looked around me and everyone’s attention is on me and to Stetson. Geez! This is kind of embarrassing!

“I’m sorry for making you suffer, sorry because of me some stupid and mean female students are pulling pranks on you.” He paused for a while and all I can hear are the whispering of the crowd. I can hear their thought, some are positive for me but there are also negative ones. 

“Okay, everyone keeps quiet first.” He said and everyone started to settle down. Wow! I never thought he can command them, he should be the president of the student council.

“To all those female students who pulled a prank on her, and also planning to pull a prank on her I will surely be your enemy. And to those who already hurt Ms. Cat, I promise I will find each of you.” He paused first and looked at me seriously.

“Please Ms. Cat, I am begging you, try to rely on others. And lastly, to those female students who are looking forward to seeing me in this event then here I am, stop hurting Catalina or else I will surely be your worst enemy! Catalina doesn’t have any concern about the issue of me not joining this year’s tournament. It is my own decision!” He said and leave the stage on the volleyball field and head towards the changing room. I am still looking at the stage, and I can’t still move on about what just happened. 

“Ms. Cat? Let’s go.” Ben said so I just nod at him and we started walking back to the student council room. What the hell just happened? I never thought he will do something like that, and how did he do it? Geez!

STETSON’S POINT OF VIEW

The timeframe for this is before he leaves the room of the student council.

I am currently thinking about the best thing I can do to fix this while looking at Ms. Cat who is currently so busy because of this event. Geez! Stetson, can’t you just think about something you can do for this lady? She endures a lot because of you, she suffers and cries a lot because of your reckless decision, why can’t you just think of something. Wait! What do those stupid female students want? Yes! They want to play volleyball this school year and take another MVP again! Yes! Oh my goodness, I guess I can still make it I will talk over this to Jun beside it’s his fault in the first place that I didn’t enter the tournament this year. I looked at Ms. Cat first before leaving the room.

“This will be the very last day you need to suffer like that because of me,” I said to myself while looking at her and started walking away. While on my way to the volleyball field I dial Jun’s phone number and thank goodness he picked up.

“Yes?” He said

“Are you in the volleyball field right now?” I asked to hope that he’s there and hoping that he will accept me.

“Ah, yes why?” He asked

“I will just tell you when I get there,” I said then ended the call. I started to run towards the volleyball field to reach it faster. As I arrived at the volleyball field, I can see that there’s a lot of female students here who may be waiting for the tournament. 

“Oh, what brought you here?” He asked the moment he saw me. 

“I need to play, just for this match,” I said that shocked him. 

“Did I hear you right?” He asked and pretending to clean his ears using his small finger. I just rolled my eyes at him and sigh.

“I am serious, okay? Please let me play.” I said and I hear that he let out a heavy sigh before nodding at me. I was so happy when he accepted me even though I didn’t train with them. I head towards the changing room and the moment my teammates saw me they are all surprised and were so happy seeing me.

“Hey, hey stop hugging me!” I said while keeping them away from me. 

“We are just happy that you are here. By the way, what’s gotten into your mind and decided to play in the last minutes?” One of my teammates asked me but I just shrugged my head at him. 

“I will not be a regular player for this game, I am just a sub,” I said that made them sad. 

“I thought you will be regular?” They asked but I just shake my head. After changing my clothes, we head towards the volleyball field. As we enter the field, every female student started to scream because they see the player they want. Tsk! What imbecile people they are! After our practice, the match is about to start so we head back to the bench. 

“Hey, number 6 guy you will play as regular this match,” Jun said and he is referring to me because my jersey’s number is 6. 

“Why? I thought I am only a sub-member?” I asked while walking towards them. 

“Who told you that? I didn’t tell you anything such things.” He said so I just let out a heavy sigh. As the match started everything is already on heat because the opponent team is also good, so we reached the 3rd set for this game. Thank goodness we managed to widen the gap in the first half of the last set and we managed to win. And that’s how I managed to do my successful plan, I am hoping that the imbecile students who are pulling pranks on her will stop doing their things to Ms. Cat because she is so strong and independent but fragile at the same time.
