Chapter 18Riley wasn’t sure how he’d ended up in the grocery store with Gabe—it was Rook’s fault—but as they walked down the aisles, and Gabe grabbed one item after the other, a calm settled over him. They were shopping. Gabe was a bear right in the middle of the grocery store, and no one had a clue. And Riley was here, calm and free and unharmed. “We should’ve grabbed apples when we were by the fruit.” Gabe went up on tiptoe as if he could see the apples from across the store. Maybe he could. He was a giant, after all. “I can go get some. Any particular kind?
