I woke up, with an I.V. in my arm, a bag of purple fluid dripping into me. Nate was by my side, small tears in the corners of his eyes. He was holding my hand with both of his, resting his forehead on them.
"Nate, what happened?" My voice sounded hoarse. I tried to clear my throat to make it better.
"Rain, thank God!" He kissed me with one of those earth shattering kisses that left me feeling like a puddle. "You passed out. The doctor said the babies hit a growth spurt and sucked up too much of your nutrients at once. She wants you eating at all times, so that you have stored up nutrients.
