Overlord Curse

Litch

They both got ready to jump the curse, but the skeleton was the one who made the first move.

'Should anyone who seems like they can fight attack you, fight defensively. Survive until I get there.' Momonga's order echoed in the skeleton's mind. "Yes, master." He said in a muffled voice.

The undead ran out from its hiding place straight into Maki who immediately attacked. She used her naginata combined with a spinning motion to strike the skeleton, but the monster blocked it with its shield.

The shield was pierced and the power of the strike was too much for the summon to handle and the undead was pushed back with great force. The undead lost its balance for a split second which allowed Panda to get closer to it, but the undead attacked before the jujutsu sorcerer could do anything.

"You're a bit too strong for a third grade, aren't you?" Panda said as he dodged the thrust attack. Just as the blade missed his body Panda grabbed the undead's arm and pulled it.

He spun the undead around for a couple of seconds and threw the undead toward Maki. She used the momentum from the throw as some extra power to cleave through the body of the creature.

After a clean cut, the creature had lost over half its body and was reduced to a head with only its shoulders and neck attached to it. It tried to get up for a few moments until it finally stopped moving. The cursed energy around the skeleton's body left its host in the form of a dark puff of smoke. The same happened to the rags and the weapons the monster carried. Only the bones remained.

'My summon died?' Momonga who was a fair distance from the action concluded.

He was chilling with Mahito inside the sewer line or as Mahito liked to say: his lab.

"Did something happen, Momonga?" Mahito asked. He had just fought against an intruder called Nanami Kento and now was laying down in a hammock.

"Someone killed the skeleton I had summoned a while ago. " Momonga answered.

"Are you going there?" Mahito asked right after jumping out of the hammock. "Geto will be coming by soon. Didn't you wanted to talk to him?"

"I was going to, but I'm more interested in hearing about this 7/3 technique you faced and your theory on souls. I'll just send someone else." Momonga responded as he raised his finger and pointed to his side.

[Summon Low Tier Undead: Litch ]

The mana he released gained the shape of a dead man with rotting skin dressed in black rags. Momonga touched his creation and said.

'This one does not have a soul. Interesting.' Mahito thought as he watched the monster starting to float.

"Go there and kill everyone you find near the remains of the skeleton. Come back with a report before you disappear." He said after pointing with his finger.

[Gate]

An oval-shaped reddish void appeared in front of the Litch who nodded and then flew towards the portal.

"Before he disappears? Is he going to?" Mahito asked while tilting his head.

"When I summ- create undead without using a human as a catalyst they only last for around 10 to 15 minutes. " Momonga answered.

"I got many humans. You want one?" Mahito asked as he was about to vomit some of them.

"Maybe some other time." Momonga waved the portal away. "Going back to what I was talking about what did Geto say about cursed energy how is it that…" Momonga said as he turned his attention back to Mahito.

Both Panda and Maki were collecting the bones that the undead left behind when a dark void manifested close to where they pilled up the bones and from inside the dark void that void a creature emerged.

It went straight after Maki who had her back turned to it.

"Maki watch out! This is much stronger than the other!" Panda said as he moved to attack it.

"Where did this come from?!" Maki screamed. She swaged her weapon towards the Litch.

The undead flew over the attack and pointed at her.

[Acid Javilin]

"What is with that cursed energy? And this strength. It's a second-grade curse at least. " Panda thought as he watched raw cursed energy being turned into a liquid and then rushing towards Maki.

The jujutsu sorcerer dodged the spell and ran after the undead who started to fly ever higher, but suddenly a tombstone hit it making it lose some altitude.

"Hehe got him!" Panda screamed as he grabbed another tombstone and covered it with cursed energy. "Maki jump after him."

The tombstone made it halfway towards the Litch before Maki used the other ones still attached to the floor as platforms to gain some height before jumping. The undead pointed his finger toward the projectile.

[Widen Magic: Shockwave]

A burst of cursed energy hit the tombstone and destroyed it. The fragments left lost all momentum and fell right away. Maki gained significant height and with a swift motion was able to pierce the Litch.

She aimed for his head, but the undead was able to dodge at the last minute. Maki's weapon went through the undead's torso and immediately tried to grab her.

'This thing is relentless. Second Grade?' Maki thought as she saw the monster retaliate without flinching. The Litch, however, was not fast enough to grab her before she spun the weapon inside him cutting the undead into several different pieces.

One of the pieces that consisted of its left hand, shoulder, and the upper portion of his skull grabbed Maki by the arm.

[Drain Touch]

It said before its body reverted into cursed energy and dispersed in the air.

"Maki!" Panda screamed as he saw the undead grabbing her by the arm. He jumped up, grabbed Maki midair, and then made a crater where he fell.

"Let go of me!" Maki said before punching him a few times and jumping out of the location.

"A thank you Panda you're the greatest would be nice. " Panda said as he got up from the hole, but the mood soon turned sour when they saw the same void appear yet again.

"My Litch died." Momonga said. Mahito stopped talking about domains as he watched Momonga start to walk around the room. "This is getting interesting."
