Blurb

For centuries a prophecy circled through the lands regarding a pack tucked deep into the western side of the continent. The tales told of a girl, whom when paired with her mate, would have the power to bring all the specifies of the four continents together, unifying even those wishing to rule for their own selfish gain. Strong willed and stubborn would Anna Claire Covington realize who she really was before those who wish to rid the world of her figured it out?

Chapter One
Curling the final strand of my platinum hair, I held it in my hands a moment to allow it to cool. I ran my fingers through the mass of curls, loosening them up. They fell in a cascade down my back, brushing the tops of my hips. Anyone who knows me is well aware that my silvery locks were my prized possession. I took my time with my makeup, enjoying the solitude of the early morning. The elegant ruffled curtains swayed slightly from the breeze that was sneaking in through my cracked window. Autumn was in full swing, the amber colored leaves mixed with yellow green flecks gently float down from the tops of the forrest, blanketing the floor beneath. It wasn’t my favorite season by far, I was fond of summer. I found the death of the greenery to be depressing but today, my heart was light. I couldn’t help but smile at the crispness in the air. I had stayed up last night, I couldn’t even say the time, waking up with the novel I was reading plastered across my face. But regardless I was up with the birds, as my mother would say. I am sure she was still snoozing. I laughed as I pictured her in my head, her rollers perched on her head, no doubt she was sporting one of her favorite moo-moo style gowns. Tucking away my beauty products, I slipped into my favorite yoga pants and a soft jersey material top.I could hear the buzz of busy wolves beginning their day down stairs. I gave my hand as small wave and the windows closed quickly, with the curtains pulled tight. Another small wave and the bed linens adjusted themselves to pristine placement. I hummed a slight tune of approval and began my decent to the kitchen. The grand staircase was glistening as Omegas busied themselves polishing it. "Beautiful morning, wouldn't you say Millie?" One of the omegas beamed up at me, always surprised that I knew them all by name. “Oh, absolutely Ms. Covington-mind your step near the bottom there, it is still wet.” Millie was such a doll. “Thank you, and it’s just Anna! Please, we played together in nursery, no need to be so formal." Millie blushed, but no doubt she would still call me Ms. Covington each time. The smell of coffee was beckoning to me the moment I stepped through the large oak double doors to the kitchen. "On the island there, for you dear.” Ms. Caroline, head of the packhouse omegas chuckled, nodding towards a steamy cup right across the island. Sliding into my seat, I nearly moaned as the decadent mocha flavor hit my tongue. Grinning, I gave my hand a quick wave and the dishes which had began to accumulate the sink clamored through the air and into the dishwasher. "Now Ms. Covington, haven’t I always told you that was not necessary? A little manual labor never hurt anyone!” Ms. Caroline huffed slightly, and I smiled more. Brushing off her comment I carried on sipping my coffee. “How about cinnamon tolls today Mrs Caroline?" Her stern look faded to a wide grin. “I’ll fetch my rolling pin." She swept across the room to the store room, and I began pulling the dry ingredients from the cabinets. Most mornings I helped her make breakfast for those who lived in the packhouse. I may be the Alpha's daughter, but that did not define me-I made sure of it. Minutes later she returned, humming a content tune and she set some milk to boil on the stove. I made myself busy measuring out ingredients. As the morning crept on we chatted over pack news, new babies, mates found and issues with the supply delivery the prior week. A puff of flour enveloped my face as I jumped, startled from the racket that came through the double doors. Colten cackled as I dusted the mess off my top, crashing onto a stool across from me. “How are you awake before noon, and why must you make such an entrance?” I rolled my eyes at him as he chuckled. “Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning huh? Can’t just say good morning to your brother?” “I’d hardly call the family mutt my brother,” I teased. Mrs. Caroline mused, a smile on her face. “Pops made me get up early. Had me set an alarm and everything, something about work to be done today to prepare for visitors tomorrow, apparently I have to learn things, being the Alpha Heir and all blah blah blah.” Colten rolled his eyes, he was 15 and still slightly immature. He was younger than me by three years, and if it was customary for girls to take the Alpha position I am certain father would have no issue with it but as it was, the council would never go for it. We only hoped my brother passed through this phase before his time to reign was upon us.
