Chapter 11Cove The breeze smelled of salt and fruit. Waves crashed in the distance, calling him home. Even the air was humid. Cove inhaled as much as he could. He wanted to touch the sea and taste all the fruits he missed. His eye scanned the platform, finding who he was looking for. The warm brown eyes and messy black hair of his father and his mother’s kind smile and surety waited for him. Tears fell before he could reach them, grabbing them into a hug. “My son, you’re finally home,” his father choked, clutching him. “I told you he could handle anything thrown at him.
