“Great job everyone. I will see you all bright and early in a few days,” Cove called, bidding farewell to his students. Cove walked back to Ciaran. His match waited for him. For some reason, Cove felt embarrassed and worried. “You are good with children. Do you want to be a father?” Ciaran asked, his expression unreadable. Anxiety rippled through Cove at the question. Such questions were traditional to ask one’s match, but there was a seriousness in Ciaran’s voice. Ciaran’s silver eyes pulled him apart with a single look. “I have daydreamed about having children,” Cove acknowledged, nervous that Ciaran did not wish for them. Ciaran nodded.
