Chapter 14Ciaran
Their life was mundane. They had fallen into a comfortable routine. Every morning, Ciaran would make breakfast for the family. Ciaran would join Cove a few days a week for his swim classes. They would eat lunch together and then read. Cove’s parents made dinner and joined them for astronomy classes. At night, he and Cove would find one another in each other’s arms.
If Ciaran asked Cove about their days, he would describe them as a dream come true. Yet, after Cove slept, Ciaran would stay awake. Tesni and Arian aired attacks every evening. His mother would join them, reporting no progress in negotiations for mining rights. Mika’s appearances were less frequent. When she was present, she was treated with outright hostility.
