Selene’s POV I left to the room where Aria was sleeping since Dominic was hell-bent on not letting me go, I was going to sleep with my baby then. It smelled faintly of clean linen. Sleep didn’t come easily, not with the weight of everything that had just happened. But I didn’t close my eyes until I moved Aria’s crib across the room and wedged a chair beneath the door handle. Even then, it wasn’t sleep. It was survival-mode unconsciousness. I woke up the next day, the sun was already slicing through the windows. A knock came, soft on the door.
