Selene’s POV I didn’t have time to process much. I threw on my black jeans, a clean blouse, and a soft cream blazer. No makeup. Not a single stroke. I didn’t care how I looked. I just needed air and maybe a sense that my life was mine again. The car that picked us up was already waiting at the corner. Rachel stayed close, practically glued to my side as if she thought I might disappear again. I didn’t have the heart to tell her I felt exactly the same.
